Democrats have been knocking the wind out of the conservative media... |
|
...in regards to the impeachment trial of Bill Clinton in the Repub HOuse and Senate. Last night, Scarborough jaw dropped to the floor when Carl Bernstein told him it was absolutely not an "impeachable" offense in that it was a personal indiscretion, not a constitutional matter. What! The look on Scarborough's face.
Today, Dale Bumpers said nearly the same thing on CNN this afternoon. It was a disgraceful time for the House and Senate, he said. This is the type of talk that Democrats need to continue, in my opinion. It was the Republicans, like Ken Starr and the impeachment managers, that were the real criminals in the impeachment hearings..

1. It's good that Democrats are finally |
|
marketing themselves to some of these shows, even when the host is a right wing dipshit. Democrats have got to be there to answer the barrage of "experts" being marketed by places like the Heritage Foundation and Eagle Forum.

6. I think the Dems. have learned an important message. |
|
They want to build their case based on an abundance of evidence. But this takes time, and these shows do not proivide the time. So they've learned to just assert their thesis as fact. This puts the repubs. on the defensive and makes them provide evidence to the contrary. Let's face it, we're not going to retry impeachment. Therefore, you give the narrative most viewers are going to agree with, facts ve damned (even if the facts support your position). This final point has been the downfall of dems. on these shows. We like to substitute substance for repetition. But we all know which is more effective. If you repeat the same thesis, and repeat it with conviction and energy, people will believe you.
I've started to notice the trend lately, no doubt due in large part to the dems. concerted effort to get their own media machine rolling.
