The wheels are loosening
on the wagon of the Bush cartel and it's and I hate to say it fun to watch.Seeing W answer questions in Africa without his scripted lies um lines and even using a few new catchphrases his"handlers"have taught him;"revisionist history".You see his eyes?blinking blinking that empty look of a guy who has lived a life of priviledge, never having to pay for his fuck-ups like the rest of us.Rummy too his act isn't going over too well in froint of that senate comm. All they have is Bill Clinton did this WE didn't it's the Clinton Administrations fault NOT OURS!Note to the RW radicals running the show these days;Bill Clinton lied about sex-YOUR lies Americans die

1. Enthusiasm is great
but be careful. In the early 80's, I was totally confident that the country would see what an idiot Reagan was, how vile those around him were, and how the country was nowhere near right-wing enough to re-elect him, and confidently told my wife "He'll never be re-elected".

Now, when I talk to her about the wheels falling off, and anti-Bush stories reaching a critical mass, she rolls her eyes and reminds me what I said back then.

"No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public".
H. L. Mencken

2. Big difference. Reagan did not have our soldiers out being killed daily...

4. No, he had a couple of hundred killed in one fell swoop.
I think that was in his first term, too. Still, he was reelected. Mainly, I think, because of his carefully staged "affability." Mondale was too much of a wonk. Same with Dukakkis, 4 years later. That's why it's so important to have somebody with some personality as the nominee.

3. When Dubya speaks for the cameras, mute the sound --
he always looks like a liar.

Let's hope that as the wheels come off they hit a few GOP politicos in Congress, as well.
