You are one tall 18 year old. That is so inspiring, how Dean has gotten young people so interested.

Pick a manager, fill out the questionnaire.....heck, Michael Moore ran for stuff before he was 18.

29. Try getting your link on this Women of DFA site. Questionnaire.
http://www.womenofdfa.org/

They often recommend some who are not Dean Dozen. Andy of DU is listed there, and our Dean-inspired candidate, Jeff Siemer made it there.

33. Does anyone know if Kerry is using Dean's ideas
on healthcare? I noticed kerry has been talking about the paperwork and processing. Wasn't that the thing Dean said about Medicare - about how it was administered badly. I still feel bad the Dems maade it like Dean was against Medicare because he just wanted to be able to process claims better etc. I hope Kerry is listening to Dean about Healthcare. Something has to be done!

17. Howard Dean invigorated me politically
Before, I would stay knowledgeable about the issues and people in power merely because I felt I had to, that it was my civic duty. Through being a supporter of the Dean campaign, I learned that it was possible for me, an ordinary person, to take an active approach to politics, that I could make a real difference.

28. Deaniacs and Clarkies
As much as we tussled with each other during the primaries, I think that Deaniacs and Clarkies had alot in common, in retrospect. I truly hope that Kerry makes Dr. Dean in charge of HHS or some entity to fix the health care mess - it would be a tragedy to not make good use of Dr Dean's expertise and commitment!

Now, for the shameless plug for my son's sake...I'm new to this site, but have been a "fixture" over on the Kerry and Clark blogs. I posted here earlier today after my husband & I had seen the movie, but it seems like all of the threads here are scattered. Over at the Clark blog, we have a topic where many dems are posting reviews of F/911. Please come post your reviews of the movie and read what many of us have said about the movie - if you don't have a Clark login, you can still post - please put your blog name from DU on your post so we recognize you. We are posting reviews at http://armymom.forclark.com/story/2004/6/25/171113/799 and suspect that MM will be seeing them, as he too was a Clarkie! Please pass this info along so we Dems can unite in support of our soldiers and in opposition to Bush and his assinine war!

Thank you! Armymom, a veteran and mom of 1st Cav soldier currently in Baghdad.

FWIW, my review of the movie is:
As many of you know, my husband and I are both Army veterans - and our oldest son, David, is an infantry soldier with the 1st Cav in Baghdad. Photos from Iraq online at http://tinyurl.com/2qalg

We just got home from seeing Farenheit 9/11, and it was an emotionally draining experience for us. It was a very well-done movie. Some of the Saudi-Bush stuff was a bit over the top, I thought, and there were some gory scenes of both civilian and military casualties, as well as a few vignettes that did not portay soldiers in a good light, but in toto, I felt like the movie was favorable to soldiers and their families. I wish that Moore hadn't included a few soldiers reveling in killing Iraqis and speaking in a dehumanizing way, but there were so many scenes and interviews with soldiers that depict things that our son has described to us, as well as many similar sentiments about the mission at present.

We went to a 130 p.m. showing in the Huntersville/Lake Norman, NC, area, which is fairly Republican. Not only was the theatre nearly sold out, there was an amazing cross-section of viewers - teens, middle aged, many elderly (a surprise to me), African Americans, grunge kids, college kids, you name it. There was much applause, laughter, and a few shouts at Bush throguhout the movie. At the end of the movie, a lady stood up and announced that she was handing out voter registration cards - and there were many takers, most of whom were young and/or African American.

There were several segments of the movie where we both covered or closed our eyes because it was hard not to imagine our son in place of the injured or dead soldiers depicted. It is for that very reason that I think everyone should see this film, because so many people don't have a clue what is really occurring in Iraq on a daily basis and how abandoned and betrayed many of our soldiers feel.

I know that our son will likely see this movie in Iraq this weekend, as pirated DVD's are available as soon as movies appear in theatres here. Ironically, we are apprehensive about David seeing it because of the political buffoonery it shows and the further demoralization that seeing the portayal of the Bush Administration in this light could cause.

We give the movie 4 thumbs up. Everyone should see this movie so that they can see the reality of the occupation of Iraq.

Dean was our hope when we were at our lowest and the country still owes him a lot for letting us start to get our message out. Dean helped us question the war and channel our anger. I know I will forever have a big space in my heart for Howard.

I love you Howard Dean!

45. Dean working the room for Kerry
From an AP story today about Kerry's 36 hour campaign swing on Thur-Fri.
---
After the rally, Kerry swung by the Pro Football Hall of Fame before he boarded his plane for the third time in 24 hours, this time to New York for a fund-raiser with lesbian, gay, transgendered and bisexual supporters at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. Kerry took off late, as usual, then had to circle LaGuardia Airport for more than an hour because of bad weather, putting him 2 1/2 hours behind schedule.

Kerry's primary rival Howard Dean warmed up the donors as they waited by telling them he's going to work his tail off for Kerry. Except he didn't use the word "tail."

"All I can say is if the vice president of the United States is using the f-bomb on the Senate floor, I can use the a-word at an LGTB gathering," Dean said to laughter and applause from the crowd. They donated $1.8 million, split evenly between Kerry's campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
---

Go Dean Go!

Sigh! I hope Kerry uses him advantageously in his administration. Like maybe Secretary of Health and Human Services? Surgeon General? Or maybe even Chairman of the Democratic National Committee? We NEED fresh new blood and new ideas, AND NEW SPINE!!!!!!

136. One might note that the author of F911, unlike Howard Dean, helped put the
Repukes in power by supporting contemptible pig CNN corporate whore Repuke propagandist paranoid freak Ralph Nader in the 2000 election.

It all depends, I guess, on your standards. Howard Dean and Michael Moore are both working in 2004 to put out the fire. The main difference that I see between the two is that Michael Moore started as an arsonist and Howard Dean is simply a fireman.

Made me very sad. He would have been a great president. I still have my Dean button on my backpack. People still strike up conversations with me about him. I was up in Burlington last week and the stickers are still on everyone's cars.

Agree with other posters, I hope Kerry finds a place for him and I hope his Dean dozen kick butt this November.

can or will - HOPE.

A hope that our country can get back on the path to democracy, if we continue to stand up for what is good and just for all.

He is not a dreamer in the sense that it could happen overnight. It will take a lot of hard work and a long time. But we must begin NOW and not relent.

I :loveya: Dean. And I will be forever grateful to him and his infectious energy.

86. Thank you Dr. Dean
For too long we have waited for the marriage of populism and intellect. The good doctor was able to pull this off. As a consequence we have been the beneficiaries to know how to carry on the good fight without caving in to those who would try to destroy representative government. His loss came because those in the seat of power in his own party still could not find the courage to challenge the status quo and risk their present comfort. Change is always hard but let's keep our eye on the prize: We will take back our country!

108. As far as I'm concerned ...
the "revolution" began on the day Howard Dean started speaking out. He was the only person who had the guts to do it ... and the only Dem who showed any backbone at all. Without him, the Dems would still be hiding in the corner, trying not to offend the Bushies.

I'm still saddened by the fact that he won't be President (this time) because I think he would have made a great one. I'd love to see him on the ticket as Kerry's VP, but I don't think there's any chance of that happening. In any case, I think America owes him a debt of gratitude because he was the first one to stand up and fight to take back our country. And when it became clear he wasn't getting the nomination, not only did he graciously step aside, but he threw all his support behind John Kerry and asked his supporters to do the same. He's a class act and a patriot in every sense of the word.

Thank you Doc!

Thank you for giving me a reason to believe and to work and fight hard rather than roll over and die.

Because of Howard Dean, I turned my eyes to the Democrat party again and realized maybe they weren't all dead after all. Then I got fired up and stepped back in the arena.

So did many others. Because of Howard Dean. He rocks, plain and simple.
