3. I don't know about you guys, |
|
but after watching my adware protection battling a series of attacks, I finally got a "Virus detected" alert from my (AVG) anti-virus program. I had the virus stuffed into the vault, and closed that page with no further ado.

6. That's what my virus-protection program told me. |
|
That was good enough for me, so I promptly bugged out.

Are you saying that anyone who clicks on that site will receive a virus? Please tell me what you meant because my virus software didn't alert me to any problem. Thanks.

9. Here are some of the details: |
|
File name: ATPartners.dll Discovery: Trojan Horse Downloader.Rameh.E File size: 94KB
It indicated that it was "healable", but I saw no reason to bother. I "vaulted" it and bugged out. My program is AVG Anti-Virus 7.0 (German), and is the paid version.

You mean before you clicked on the cartoon you were warned or before you even clicked on the link? (I'm not the most computer literate.)
I have virus protection, firewall, etc. and nothing warned me of anything.

11. I just did a Google-search on: "Trojan Horse Downloader.Rameh.E" |
|
There's quite a bit of info on it there, and it's supposed to be a real sneaky one. It seems to be safe in the Vault, but I'll read up on it later. Probably, had I tried to "heal" it, it wouldn't have healed. What AV program are you using?

I'm using Norton
So the fact that I clicked on that site means I now have that virus?

13. My "guess" is that you do, |
|
and your Norton didn't spot it. Perhaps you have an older version, or you hadn't updated the virus definitions. All I know for sure, was that while I was at that (agressive adware-stuffed) page, that "Virus Detected!" screen popped up. I hate to bum-rap what may be an innocent webpage, but as far as I'm concerned, I'll be observing Nancy Reagan Safe Sex over there.
Google that Trojan Horse I had mentioned above, and you'll probably find free diagnostic programs that'll search your computere for it.
