The 9/11 DVD in October will be the nail in Dubya's coffin. |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 07:58 AM by trumad
That is if it comes out in Oct. I'll see the movie at least twice in the theaters by then and I'm still buying the DVD not only for support but to show friends who didn't see the movie. Young folks 18-25 who couldn't get in because of the "R" rating will see it. College campuses throughout the land will screen it, etc... I believe that there's some merit that some kids that young are oblivious to all things political. BUT I'll tell you, when they see this flick, their young and impressionable minds will awake big time.
It's all good folks!

They can get in if they are 18+.
But I like your premise.

7. You're right..actuall it's 17 and younger |
|
according to some of the googling I just did.. But my premise stays the same. I think it will reach out to the young crowd via DVD big time...

3. young kids will see it before then, is my bet |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 08:03 AM by ixion
because a) theaters are lax on 'r' restrictions anyway ( whichs only limits those under 18 by the by, and most high school kids can get into any 'R' movie; and b) because some theaters have already lowered the rating to the 'PG-13' when means that jr high school kids can see it in many places.
However, the release of the DVD will have a nice 'second wind' effect, IMHO. :-)

Hello??? I don't know where you live, but a large amount of ADULTS are oblivious to all things political too! College kids are just easier targets because they're lumped in tidy little groups.

6. Agreed...that's why I highlighted "some" |
|
I would say that 18 to 25 year olds are less politically astute than folks older... It's just a natural progression of like... Nothing wrong with it, it's just the way it is...

9. I'd say only slightly so |
|
The ones who are politically astute tend to be MUCH more so than the average adult, while there are a decent amount who don't know anything.

11. Again...I highlighted the "some" in my statement |
|
to tread lightly on the description. I think this movie will go along way to get kids more active. I happen to know quite a few kids that age because I live in a large college town.. I gotta say from my discussions with them it's running about 20% Politically astute to 80% ambivalent. MHOP (Not Scientific) ;-)

16. Having probably more recently graduated... |
|
I'd go more around 40% astute - 60% non-astute. There's almost always people protesting or organizing over some issue, and it's not always the same people.
I didn't mean to hop on ya... I'm sorry if I did.

whether or not you are personally affected by this bunch of thugs running our country and world. Dumb people think that there welfare ends with their person. If only we could educate everyone to see that we are all affected by what is around us, no matter how far away.

19. DVDs always come out on Tuesdays... |
|
so if Miramax wants to release the DVD around the anniversary then it will come out on 9/7 or 9/14. Personally, I think releasing the DVD during the Republican convention would be a smarter move. People could show the movie on big-screens outside the convention around the clock. Releasing it during the convention would make the DVD almost as big a deal as the theatrical release.

13. If I were Michael Moore. . . . . . |
|
. . . . . I'd have the DVD, with all the extras, ready to release by early September, but ANNOUNCE the release for late September. Then quietly, with no fanfare, ship it for delivery Labor Day week-end. And put a really low price on it -- $5.95??? -- so EVERYONE can get a copy and give more copies as gifts to loved ones. . . . and not-so-loved ones.

as he was talking the the "entertainment/pop" guy they have on every day that Michael Moore has backed away from two things concerning the movie, namely 1) that MM had hoped it would help boot * out of the White House, and 2) that the DVD would be released in October before the election.
Anyone know where they're getting this "news"??
