I could understand Nader running the last time but not this time...... |
|
I could understand where he was coming from in 2000. More liberal Democrats were taken for granted for a long time. There was legislation passed that would turn the stomach of any decent Democrat. And Nader was saying, "No, we don't have to accept that from our Party..." And he ran and he didn't do that well, but some folks still think he caused Gore to "lose", when in fact, Gore never lost. The election was stolen, plain and simple. But Ralph Nader had many sympathetic voters that did not vote for him because they understood where he was coming from.
But few people understand where Ralph is coming from this time around, unless it is for some personal vindication or such? The stakes are different this time around. People see what Bush has done. Before, they could only dream about what he would do. Now they know. And they do not wish to gamble with our country this time around. Ralph Nader should be smart enough to understand that it is different this time. He has every right to run, no one can deny him that. However, he does not have the same reasons as he had in 2000. And his reasons this time are far short of qualifying as legitimate in the minds of Democrats that supported him the last go around.

When he marginalized and criticized the Green party for not endorsing him, when he said Moore was like a fat beach ball becuase he didn't get an invite to the premiere, Nader has been exposed. He takes cheap shots and resorts to name calling to those who don't stick to his cause. He isn't any better then a republican slime ball.
His running is all about his ego and I hope his supporters realize he is playing them like a fiddle.
