the call up of the discharged army personal;
may also extend to the national guard. our friends daughters were in the guard and served their 7 yrs. they called their former commanders and found out if they meet the requirements they can be called back into service..needless to say they are freaking out over this.
will the shit hit the fan over this?? i doubt it. bush walks on water and what ever he does is just fine with 50% of the american people.

1. It's finally hitting home to lots of people.
In my heavily-Repub area we just found out about two of our neighbors who are being called up. Both have families, both have high-education and high-skill jobs. But they're going to either Iraq or Afghanistan and their lives are being torn apart. My Repub friends and neighbors are sick about it and beginning to be frightened. Only the shock of someone close being called up is going to wake up these people who think Bush walks on water.

2. It is starting to hit them on a personal level.
Most freepers, neo-cons, and right-wingers gave a sh*t because they didn't know anybody affected by Bush's war. Now their family members might have to go to Iraq and Afghanistan and risk being killed. Just wait until the call for the draft gets louder.

Oh, by the way, can Bush be called back? He "served" in the National Guard. He should make up for the "lost" time that he didn't show up for.

3. Had a PolySci prof tell us: "The war in Vietnam will end
when enough body bags come home and people realize that the war is taking money out of their pockets."

Sadly enough, he was exactly right. A goodly number of Americans still cling to the notion that this "war" is some kind of noble cause and they can pull it off on the cheap with few casualties and little cost and that magically we'll emerge with some kind of "Peace with Honor".

The alleged "war" hasn't come home yet.
