Edwards/Obama, 2012
July 6, 2012.

Vice President John Edwards announced this morning that he has chosen Senator Barack Obama as his running mate. Edwards told a cheering crowd in North Carolina that he and Obama would continue the policies of President Kerry that have ended terrorism, united a divided nation, created 41 million jobs, balanced the budget, and made education and health care basic human rights.

The popular Vice President currently leads his opponent, Tucker Carlson, by 52 points (53 points without Nadar in the race) in the most recent national polls. The choice of Obama for the second spot on the ticket is expected to increase that lead even further in the days and weeks ahead.

Within moments of the decision, the Edwards/Obama ticket received an endorsement from former President George W. Bush. Mr. Bush was convicted in 2005 for authorizing the release of the name of an active CIA agent and is currently incarcerated in a federal prison facility in Mississippi, along with former Vice President Dick Cheney and 52 members of Mr. Bush’s former administration. Mr. Edwards said that he appreciates the support, but will continue the Kerry policy of refusing to approve Mr. Bush’s weekly appeals for clemency.

In other news today, Secretary of Labor Michael Moore announced …..

10. And in other news, Senate Majority Leader Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY)
Edited on Tue Jul-06-04 07:59 PM by rainbowgrrl24
announced her support for the Edwards/Obama ticket, and laughed at the fact that people couldn't stop talking about her aspirations to become John Kerry's choice for VP back in 2004. She stated that "I hope they believe me now, I was not interested in the job. I am still very happy to be the Senator from New York."

6. I do not know much about Obama other than a few things I've read, but
when I saw one item about him, I was VERY impressed. I had this fleeting vision that THIS may be our first president of color. He'll be old enough and experienced enough in a few years to be considered a very viable candidate, at the rate he's going. I'm completely captivated, and hope to learn much more about him. A lot will depend on how he handles his increasingly probable Senate job. So far, so good, though.

By the way, I LOVE this story!

11. i saw him live
at a candidates' forum here in March. He is brilliant, and his resume is sensational. Our future is him, Jesse Jr, Granholm, Shaheen, Ford, Edwards, Stabenow, etc. There's is JD Hayworth, Joe Scarborough, Smirk, and Katherine Harris. Who do you prefer?

8. How about Obama beats Edwards in the 2012 primary...
Sounds good to me! I couldn't stand President Edwards, but he's okay for VP, especially this time around.
