450 former striking employees lose jobs with Maytag
<http://www.theiowachannel.com/money/3499064/detail.html>

After the end of the strike "workers had expected to put in a full day on the production line Tuesday."

When they showed up, managers pulled them aside and said they had to leave.

"They treated us this morning like we were fired employees. We were not to be in that plant under any circumstances," unreinstated striker Darryl Petersen said, who worked for eight years at Maytag.

The group of workers had been receiving certain severance benefits. Now they say they've been told those are gone. "I think the whole purpose behind us being called back was for us to lose our benefits," Petersen said.

Another 450 unemployed manufacturers suffering tonight. How upsetting.

2. I thought Maytag loved a good Agitator!
It's Maytag's bread and butter! I've always bought Maytag products but I'll rethink that now!

3. I think that I may be sick. I just had to replace a washer and dryer and I
was very careful to avoid GE and some others and purchased Maytag. Now I see this. I guess the best that I can do now is to copy this article, write a letter to let them know that if I had known about this ahead of time I wouldn't have purchased the products.
