Mike Moore busting on Bush on Charlie Rose now, good quip about 7 mins.
Edited on Tue Jul-06-04 11:07 PM by jdjkkse
Rose asked him what he was trying to say with footage of 7 mins, and Moore said "I can't imagine Clinton or any other president in my lifetime just sitting there like a deer in the headlights. And that, I think, is unkind to deer."

Then Rose asked Moore what he thought Bush was thinking during the 7 mins. and Moore says "Well, to assume he has thoughts at all, is, umm, kind."

I slays me how Charlie is so easy on people he likes and he is firing questions at Moore like a machine gun. This is why someone here called Rose's talk show "the listen show."

4. Michael Moore is kicking ass tonight (when he can get a word in)
Edited on Tue Jul-06-04 11:25 PM by jdjkkse
he just said "There are kids dead today because the media did not do it's job." It's just an interview about the movie Fahrenheit 9/11. Charlie is actually making some good points, has insinuated twice that Saudis knew about 9/11 before it happened.

edit: wow. I have even more respect for Moore. He just said that if the media had been half as tough about investigating whether or not to go to Iraq as it has been on investigativing Michael Moore, we wouldn't have gone into Iraq.

7. Ohhh, thanks! I've been trying to find out alllll day
if part 2 would be on tonight! The danged web site is down, so I couldn't find out.

Part one was great, and I'm looking forward to this!

It's fine that Rose is asking some hard questions....... Mike is good with the answers. But, I get really ticke d when the interviewer won't stay silent long enough to let a person answer the blessed question!

8. Leno got in a good one about F911......
Edited on Tue Jul-06-04 11:47 PM by Kanary
just now, and it's not worth a post alerting the west coasters....

He was talking about the 7 minutes in F911, where * is first told, and keeps reading the children's book. He said that Moore thinks that's a criticism of *, but, actually, it's a compliment. He said, "I mean, who knew he could read a children's book in 7 minutes!"

The mention of the movie got a big applause, as did the joke about *

edited to add: He mentioned that Stallone and * are both celebrating their 58th birthday today. "What are the odds that two of the masters of the English language would have the same birthday."

9. lol - it's good to see that F-911 is being "mainstreamed" on many shows
now. It was all over the stupid tabloid entertainment shows tonight. McBush, I'm hating it!

10. That IS a good one.
Maybe Leno is a true puke, who like other real conservatives is wanting Bush out of office before he has the whole country hating the Republican party.

Leno is gonna be on Dennis Miller, so there is no way he isn't a repuke. I mean really, Leno doing a low-rated nothing show like Miller's? Quid Pro Quo somewhere.

God, Leno has a HUMONGOUS audience, so that means millions of people just found out about the 7 minutes that wouldn't have otherwise. Thanks for posting this.

16. You're very welcome.... that was my thought, too...
It got laughs, but I'm sure there were many eyes opened.

Probably, because of Leno, there are now many people who have decided to go see F911. That suits me just fine. :)

12. I found myself yelling "SHUTUP" at
rose during the so-called interview. I was hoping others were watching it because Michael did so well in spite of charlie.

I was really impressed. I've never seen Moore talk like that on F/911..On Letterman it was a very friendly but Michael really held his own with rose.

15. Shut up, indeed! Looked to me like Mike was biting his tongue
at times. That was beyond rude.

I'm glad he was asking some of the questions....... Michael is great with the answers, and it tells a good part of the story. But continuuing to talk over Michael is beyond rude...... it's just plain EGO.

Mike did fine, but there was so much more that could have come out if Rose had acted like a PROFESSIONAL.

Thanks again for the heads up about this! Glad I got it recorded.....

14. Good Show
I think that Rose sort of realized that he was part of the media that weren't doing their job. He tried to show that he had some people on that didn't agree with the rush to war, but it was a poor effort on his part.
Thought that Mike handled the interview, if one can call it that, well and came out getting his points across.

17. I saw that pre-war show they were discussing
It had me screaming at the television because they wouldn't let the anti-war guy get in a word edgewise.

And Rose thought he was doing his part in being impartial by having four pro-war guys and one anti-war guy. What? Explain to me how four against one is impartial. Plus Rose was so contemptuous of the anti-war guy it was impossible for the audience not to get his message that anti-war was not the way to go.
