Matt Lauer yesterday on the Today Show
stopped me in my tracks when he said..."Well isn't picking someone with so much charisma like Edwards a double edged sword? I mean it could be said that Kerry picked him because he(Kerry) has no charisma? Honest to God, I just turned and stared at the fool. This is what passes for journalism?

1. Matt Lauer is an idiot who impersonates a journalist. Like Cheney
impersonates a human being.

Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 06:23 AM by Eric J in MN
In 2000, the media said Al Gore had no charisma, and Gore might choose charismatic John Kerry as his vp to make up fot it:

3. If there has to be contrast on the ticket, give me
Intelligence and political saavy on top, and charisma as VP.

It is a lot better than vapid emptiness and clown prince inbreeding on top, and snarling cynicism who sets the real agenda and tone as VP

5. The candyass yuppie punk tried to grill Michael Moore
Who fired back something to the effect of, "If you had done your job and asked the government the hard questions--maybe there wouldn't have been any war or the need to make this film".

6. That was great!
Caught that and had a great laugh at Lauer's expense. What a dumbass he is. No match for Moore, that's for sure.

10. Yep. On this a.m.'s episode of Today's Whores ...
Lester Dolt said "the Democratic candidates who are being called the two Johns". Lester didn't identify who was calling them the two johns. Maybe just himself and his fraud journalist pals.

Funny I never heard them refer to the current crooks in office as Dick & Bush.

11. There IS NO "journalism" in Imperial Amerika
Such archaic terms and the antiquated sense of ethics that drove that now-extinct profession are gone now. They were creatures of the Old American Republic and began dying long ago, when the Republic began dying.

"Journalist's" jobs are now performed by Infotainers, but the job they did is lost forever to the mists of history.

AT least in the Empire...travel to the Free World of you want to see how this archaic and extinct profession goes about it's daily tasks.

Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 07:07 AM by OneTwentyoFive
Mr.Bush did you pick Dick Cheney because you can't put more than two words together and form a sentence??

No, I didn't think Lauer did....

15. and what's so nauseating...
Is that while they portray Kerry as 'aloof' and lacking charisma, they gush over how 'likeable' Bush* is, what a 'regular guy'.

Likeable? With his swaggering fake cowboy crap, his massive ego, his idiotic babble, his obvious incompetence?

It's such an obvious corporate agenda, you think these people must go home at night and drink themselves insensible just to cover their shame. Then again, they apparently have no shame.

16. Matt Lauer is the emptiest talking head there is on the major networks.
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 09:26 AM by lpbk2713
Now when you get into the cable networks I have to admit there are some pretty good contenders. But Matt Lauer just seems to yammer away without even thinking about what he is saying.

Ed: typo.

17. The Media In US is irrelevant
I don't turn on the Morning Shows. I stopped watching a long while back. I don't listen to the idiot talk radio hosts - I stopped caring when the Fairness Doctrine was thrown out the window. I don't have cable and I refuse to even try to post, read or make sense of the Righties. They are irrelevant. So might I suggest you stop watching them because you already know you are only going to get more BS thrown at you. Why try to present a valid argument to people who are only protecting their own position and salary? They are despicable people and the best way to push them out is to completely ignore them.

19. The fact that the 'today show' even presents news is funny.
This is such a perky, feel-good-in-the-morning show, I'm surprised they even present the news. Then when they have the gall to editorialize it is reprehensible. Now CNN has got Soledad O'brien, freshly stolen from NBC's today show, and their news keeps getting more and more shallow.

21. He and Hatie-Katie both got their shots in yesterday.
Screw 'em. Two of the biggest larfs at the F9-11 screening I attended were Matt's interview with that tall building parachute guy and Katie proclaiming "Navy Seals ROCK".

The air in their heads needs a good recycling.

22. ALL of them said that -it was a Talking Point
Every single reporter I listened to yesterday brought up the same questions. I heard the *charisma/outshine* one every single time.

Gee, you'd think they were faxed a script or sumpin'.:)
