Is the coming Election the most Important one in decades?
to me it seems the urgency to win this election is thick and palpable. to me it seems more important than many previous elections. this one seems flavored with a desperation to stop bushco's insane death march for profits and power.

to me, this may be the most important election of my life.

1. No more so than 2000
You just realize it now. Those of us who followed GWB's career before 2000 recognized it then. Maybe now that more people are paying attention we can stop this idiot.

3. The most important in my memory
I've been voting for 26 years, and I can't think of a more important election in that time. I don't think the stakes have ever been this high with regard to the future direction of our nation. If bush* is re-installed, I fear that this will not be a place where I want to bring up my kids.

4. totally. . .so much at stake. . .
On December 12, 2000 when * was selected. . .my proclivity to spin on the positive side of things rationalized. . ."well how much damage can he possibly do in 4 years. . .?"

Silly me. Since then I've sworn off convoluted rationalizations for good!

6. Yep.
Madeleine Albright spoke in the Hague on Monday night, and she said this is the most crucial election of our lifetimes. A lot of people agree with that (I certainly do), and Democrats living abroad are more active than they've ever been. At our local caucus in Amsterdam in February, they had more than 80 voters participating. In past elections, the count ranged between 8 and 15. In France and the UK, the numbers were huge (lots more Americans living there). We're doing all we can on this side of the pond - it'll be up to all of you in the States to pull it off.

Just a little more importnant than the last one was.... cuz the last one did raise a wee bit of a ruckus if you remember.... actually... the last "selection" may have been the most important one... and the supreme court blew it.

9. The most important since 1864. Maybe since 1776.
You remember the "election" we held to see if we would remain under the power of the previous King George...?

10. Definately!
The administrations of Nixon, Reagan and Bush Sr. set the stage for the radical RW to try to impose their vision on the world. If Bush II is elected, it'll confirm their delusions of grandeur and disillusion moderates and liberals for a generation.

12. Yes.
I knew GW was bad news when he was selected in 2000, but I had no idea he would succeed in consolidating power the way he has. Also, his incompetence has exceeded even my expectations. I am wild with anxiety over the way the Constitution is being shredded and deeply fearful of what will happen if he manages to steal 4 more years. Like most people, I am busy. But defeating GW and the right wing agenda has become a major driving force in my life. Everyday I think, hmmmm, what can I do today to help get these bastards out?

13. Yes! Because of the Supreme W. Court!
Kerry-Edwards / Edwards-? administrations could appoint four or more SCOTUS justices in the next 4-16 years.

Our nation's future depends on our commitment to our Constitution (as a living, evolving entity).

Do you want repukes in charge of our country's Constitutional future?

15. Next President will get three or four SC nominations
Stevens and Ginsberg are both in poor health. Rehnquist and O'Connor were both thought to want to retire. That is a total of four nominaitons that could drastically affect the Court for decades.
