That bitch on MSNBC who was interviewing that lady talking about
Elizabeth Edwards...I wanted to kick her ass!! WTF was the deal with the question about how she doesn't look like the typical politician's wife? Oh...translation: she's overweight, not pert and a Stepford wife. Hey, lady, Elizabeth can kick your ass with her brainpower! She's only busy being a stay-at-home mother and is highly-educated, intelligent lawyer. Grrrrrrrrrrr.........

1. The lady handled the news bimbette well.
Said basically that Elizabeth Edwards is a highly accomplished person in her own right and there is no 'mold' for politician's wives anymore.

So ha! news bimbette---take that.

2. Elizabeth Edwards is not obese
She does look fairly petite, though.

I think she's very attractive, and looks pretty good for 55.

Obviously, whover said this never gave birth to four children.

I wonder if they ever ripped on Barbara Bush.

3. And they probably didn't give birth to kids at 48 & 50
like Elizabeth did. She's a beautiful, intelligent, highly-accomplished woman in her own right. That's what's scaring the hell out of the Repugs.

5. So he didn't dump her for a trophy wife? SHAME SHAM SHAME.
THAT's what a Reep would have done (unless he was drunk for 2/3rds of his adult life and couldn't function up or downstairs.)

8. I like how Elizabeth has already labelled herself as the anti-Barbie
to Edwards' Ken look. She is funny, warm and candid and the perfect antidote to the phony Stepford wife. I love both her and Teresa.

Elizabeth Edwards charms, disarms

NOT-YOUR-ORDINARY CANDIDATE'S SPOUSE WORKS WITH BRAINS, WIT

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. - At the decidedly unglamorous hour of 7:15 a.m., the equally unglamorous wife of presidential candidate John Edwards strolls into Pete & George's Steakhouse to polite yet dull-eyed stares.

Elizabeth Edwards looks the part of would-be first lady in her dignified black pantsuit, pearl necklace and heavy makeup despite the early hour. The former Raleigh lawyer reaches automatically for hands and recites her litany: "Hi, I'm Elizabeth Edwards. My husband, John, is running for president. Hi, I'm Elizabeth Edwards. My husband, John, is running for president."

But these are hard-core Democrats, not easily impressed and well aware that her husband's rival, John Kerry, has all but clinched the nomination. Most keep shoveling home fries and grits as Edwards starts talking. One elderly woman whips out her compact and begins reapplying her lipstick.

After a few moments, though, the forks stop moving. The lipstick gets stashed.

This is not what they expected.

10. This woman is...
a tower of strength, serenity, and calm. She lost a son, helped her daughter cope and accept, encouraged her husband to run for the Senate, and stood side by side with him when he ran for President in the Democratic primary. She bore two children at ages 48 and 50 , and after years of practicing law she had opted to stay home and take care of her family. She doesn't look like a Hollywood bimbet, she looks like a woman who has lived, lost, recovered from that loss, all with a sense of dignity and optimism...she is one gorgeous broad!

13. how entertaining
That bitch on MSNBC who was interviewing that lady talking about

Invoke a nasty sexist stereotype against someone invoking a nasty sexist stereotype. (And really, what is this Victorian "lady" crap?)

The irony was deliberate, right?

___

Damn, if she's such a highly educated, intelligent lawyer, what's this about her being "busy" being a "stay-at-home mother", btw and off the main topic?

I certainly have no problem with objecting to sexist stereotypes of women such as the comments in question apparently amounted to. I don't know, however, why I'd be defending the "career" choices of a rich woman who took advantage of the luxury of not working if she happens to feel like it. (Gimme a break, she does the vacuuming?) Or did hubby already do his share of time out of the work force?

19. I am thinking they might want to be VERY VERY careful about
picking on Elizabeth Edwards. I have a feeling that soon to be VP Edwards would not take kindly to it, and would probably come out swinging.....which would only further endear him to America.

bring it on
