was that you? =)

* used this as an excuse to cut out early from his "press conference" after about 4 minutes. Can you tell us more about the location from which he fielded media questions? It looked like it was inside...

Thanks for your protest work - you represent many, many of us who couldn't be there.

not sure where it is, since "Stormy Gale Rd." is not in mapquest, but they have a cozy little 9000 sq ft. home on 25 pleasant acres according to various news reports.

19. Yep

He sounds really stupid.
Keep saying the south liked him because they share hix values - what does that mean? Let me guess, he is talking about prejudice,Christian right, war, judges that are like Scalia.

What did he say about being called Mr. President? I didn't hear all of it.

I also heard him say to the reporter,"You look awfully tired, I think it's time for us to go to the next event."

Did my ears fail me - why would he decide that the reporter looked too tired to ask a question. ????? How much energy do you need to ask a one sentence question?

28. no - he said "you look awfully hot"
ewwwww... since the camera was on him and not the reporters, I was afraid for a minute he was talking to some young female field reporter from a local NC TV station.

Who knows, maybe it was a reference to the temperature rather than level of attractiveness of whoever was asking the question. Of course, it looked like the conference was inside, and unless the AC was on the blink, that was a gutless dodge and a quick way out of an uncomfortable situation.

Any word that ends with a "z" sound like "values" gets transformed to "valuce". I don't think that's a Texas accent or a southern accent. I don't know what kind of accent that is.

70. I HATE signs like that!
JESUS supports our trooops and our president?? Really? That is SO unbelievably stupid! If these morans thought it out.. they'd realize how utterly stupid their assertions are.

First. If Jesus does exist as some sort of diety, he would NOT support the killing of thousands and thousands of innocents. He would not condone the killing of anyone for the purpose of gaining strategic control of a country for military and oil purposes, and to gain military bases for further death and destruction in the area.

Second. Assuming once again, that Jesus exists in that capacity, he would NOT support George Bush.. not on your life. He would not support a man that gleefully oversaw the execution of so many people while he was governor of Texas.

Third. Jesus would NOT favor one country, if Jesus was at all the way he was described. He would NOT favor a country or one leader. That's ludicrous.

Fourth. If Jesus DID support our troops, as these morans assert... then WHY are so many of our soldiers dying? Why are thousands injured? Did the families of those soldiers not pray hard enough?

Fifth. WOuld Jesus support the abuse and torture of civilian adults and children in Iraqi prisons? Would he support the ruthless murder of prisoners?

These sign wavers need to go to a real church, they need to understand what TRUE Christianity is. I won't EVEN discuss that idiot with the "DEMOCRATS ARE TRAITORS" sign, that is just beyond comprehension. :grr:

43. Better hair
funny line and great transition right into a strong rhetorical Q & A on Edwards strengths by Kerry.

But WTF - MSNBC cutting away. Switching to CNN (much maligned but many of us, but still not at the bottom of the heap of cable news whores).

45. Van Halen intro for Edwards - awesome!!!
"Right Now" - what a great song (anyone remember that powerful video that illustrated all the good and bad things that were happening across America as the song played?)

49. He is the only person
(and I use the word with reservations) that I have ever seen where you can actually see the light go out. He'll be spewing along and then goes completely blank. He is well on the way to implosion.

50. Thank you, protestors!!
I'm there in spirit with you. Let's show them how it's done in NORTH CAROLINA!!
There's another protest planned this afternoon outside the State Capitol - check the state forums if you are interested.
Can anyone please get a snapshot of the "Keep off Edwards' turf" sign and post it?

cheat anyway possible. They have no respect for anything resembling the truth and loosing gracefully is simply not an option for the Reich.

67. here's a scenario
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 12:06 PM by 56kid
Bush will go crazy, be put in a room with a jacket, literally have to be removed from office.
Cheney will be president for a couple of months and then Kerry will win the election.

As long as we're engaging in comparatively useless speculation.

or maybe that guy with sign around his neck that says the world is going to end tomorrow will be right.

To quote Bob Dylan --
"Have you heard the news, the vice-president's gone mad.
When?
last night
where?
downtown
hmmm well that's too bad, well there's nothing we can do about it, it's just something we're going to have to forget"

Not that I always feel that way, but sometimes all this endless speculation about what's going to happen, oh dear what's going to happen seems to me about as useful as the distraction of TV. It's entertaining to a point.

Aren't there more important things to worry about? Things we can actually have an effect on?
Now if something venal and vile does actually happen of that magnitude, well then would be a good time to take it on.

(end of mini-rant)

58. Everyone seems to be assuming...
that there will be Presidential debates. What on Earth makes you think that W's handlers will let him go up against Kerry? And they would have to roust out Cheney from his undisclosed location to make an appearance.

Also, look at the timing of the repug's convention. There will be no time for debates after that and before the election because they will manufacture some sort of national emergency that will keep them too busy to debate.

69. And IF there are any debates - the DEMS better make a BIG ISSUE
out of him REMOVING HIS DAMN EAR MICROPHONE!

They'd better insist that he be there BY HIMSELF without any help from his handlers!

Of course, even with it all, he still can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

77. Bush doesn't just need to lose - he NEEDS to be humiliated
Just losing a close election will not be enough. Bush's agenda must lose and forever be remembered as having been rejected by the American people. If he ducks the debates and his poll numbers continue to slide, we hopefully could be looking at an election loss of historic proportions.

I guess if you have $25,000 to throw away it would be no big deal. I bet none of the networks will show this....maybe Jon Stewart will pick it up!
