Her other son, John Heinz IV, runs a private school in Pennsylvania and purposely keeps a pretty low profile.

edited to correct my previous post.

I haven't seen him on the campaign trail and wondered about him. All the kids seem to be close. Nice to see when two families become one they get along well.

Are her sons hot or what???

Watching it this morning, my 12-yr. old asked me if I would marry Chris Heinz. I said I would marry him this afternoon if possible, but that I was probably too old for him! Rats!

Mark my words, as a marketing man...you listening, DNC? Those babies symbolize HOPE and THE FUTURE. They are symbols of the innocence stolen from us by the Bush/Cheney cabal. They are fresh, young, alive, vibrant, exciting, everything the Old Codger Brigade of the GOP is not.

16. Doesn't All This
strike anyone here a tad bit icky-poo? I mean, this propaganda differs from Bush on the aircraft carrier how? It all seems like Kabuki, I just like these guys better, but that doesn't make it any less fake.

36. It's not fake
And that's how it differs. Teresa Heinz lost a husband in an airplane crash, that family knows tragedy and has rebuilt their lives and that takes love. The Edwards family lost a son in a car crash, same thing. The Kerry daughters have been through a divorce. They're all amazing adult children who deeply love their parents and each other. And America will know it in their gut. As Jackie Kennedy said, if you screw up raising your kids, there's not much else you can do to make up for that. These families didn't screw it up and it will MATTER.

I am in love.

I am NOT the "awwww, loooook at the pwecious baybeeeeees" woman on any typical day. However, the picture of John Kerry with John Edwards' son melts my heart.

No wonder the Republicans are running scared tonight. They should be. They have NOTHING that can counter this, and these adorable (and VERY family-friendly,) photos are offering a refreshing (and desperately needed,) change.

Julie

Thanks for posting the inspirational story of Wade Edwards (whom I'd never heard of). For such a short life, he had so many accomplishments. The link doesn't say how he died, though. What's the rest of the story? Thanks.

17. Wade and a Friend Were on Their Way to the Beach
over Spring Break, when a gust of high winds blew his Jeep off the highway. Wade, who was driving, went to pull the jeep back on and it flipped over. He was killed, the friend with him survived.

There was a wonderful article in the Washington Post a few years back which talked about the profound impact Wade's death had on Senator Edwards. The Senator and his son had been extremely close and Wade's death is what propelled John Edwards into politics.

Police investigation of the accident concluded that no drugs/alcohol/exessive speed played a part. Just a gust of wind took the life of a promising young man...

But what a heart-wrenching, inspirational story. The fact that Wade's death compelled Sen. Edwards into politics should quiet all the "ambulance chaser" bullshit the repugnants are spewing. Of course it won't.

Thanks for sharing.

I was so moved that I started reading more about Senator Edwards and following his career in the Senate. I thought he would make a great president some day.

I supported him in the primaries (along with Senator Kerry) and am just thrilled that he's on the ticket.

24. Actually, named after Atticus of Rome
who was a lawyer and friend of Cicero's. It has something to do with his son who died. IIRC, his son had to write a report on Cicero and was very interested in his relationship with Atticus. The obvious connection is that Edwards felt like he was Atticus to his son's Cicero, or something like that.

I think Edwards writes about it in Four Trials and I've almost definitely gotten the details wrong.

Kucinich is definitely a team man. Dean and Graham and the entire Dem Congress seem to be joined for this battle.

These men are patriots and KNOW all their talents and skills will be needed to defeat BushInc and clean up their mess. They also know Kerry is smart enough to tap into their talents because he has a healthy ego in proper proportion, not an outofcontrol one like the dictatortot and his circle.

Just feel like we've been living in a nightmare for the past 20 years of Repug rule and the 8 years of Bill and Hillary Clinton being beat up every time they opened their mouths. I just feel as if we may finally be waking up from that nightmare. Oh if only it could be true. These 2 guys make such a great team.

I feel a lot better about voting for them. Our future looks bright. And I will dare any repuke to talk about those two men not having family values. Or caring, John Kerry takes time to chase John Edward's son, all bush did was oogle his daughter's breasts. Oh I know the repukes will say photo-op but not all of that looked scripted. Pickles always looks like she can not wait to get away from him her first chance she can get.

53. Kids bring life into Kerry camp
<snip>
Four-year-old Jack and 6-year-old Emma Claire aren't quite John-John and Caroline Kennedy yet, but they brought an instant aura of youth and family to the ho-hum campaign.

None was more attentive to it than Kerry himself, who told Jack and Emma Claire stories at each campaign stop, tousled Jack's hair and scooped up the boy in full view of clicking camera shutters.

<snip>

The often-aloof Kerry seemed energized by the presence of Edwards, his wife, Elizabeth, and their three children. The Edwards family stood arm-and-arm with the two grown Kerry daughters and Heinz's two sons - who took turns holding the youngsters at rallies.
