Kirk (Congressman) Admits C.I.A. Connection
Mark Kirk (Republican, 10th District – Illinois) admitted on the floor of Congress that he has been working for the Central Intelligence Agency at the same time he is serving in Congress. Lee Goodman, Kirk’s Democratic opponent, called for Kirk’s resignation from Congress. “The conflict of interest is blatant and appalling,” said Goodman. “Congress has been struggling to investigate intelligence failures by the CIA and now it turns out Kirk is working for the CIA. No wonder Kirk voted not to investigate these failures after 9/11. He is working for the people who didn’t want to be investigated. Any high-schooler who has studied the separation of powers in U.S. history class would recognize the problem.”

2. I don't think so...
it's my understanding that a person can't hold two government jobs at the same time.

4. Was he spying on Congress?
What committees is he on? We need to know if the CIA was paying him.

5. Why?!
Why would the CIA need (or even want) an employee in Congress and did they try to keep it secret? The CIA isn't supposed to be active inside our borders. Unless it was for some REALLY underhanded reasons! Spying on members of Congress, steering legislation or investigations with alterior motives, etc.

I bet some Congressmen will go totally bugshit!

This guy should be booted immediately. Aren't there procedures for suspending someone immediately for serious misconduct? Instead of waiting for an impeachment or election to boot him? Every day this guy was in Congress was a major fluck up! If he's still working for the Agency it still is. At the very least it brings up separation of powers issues. Nobody can work for two branches at the same time. Congress is legislative branch and the CIA is executive branch.

7. Why would ANY Totalitarian Government need to spy on it's own legislature
Power. Control.

Parasitization. Deniability. Deflection. Obfuscation.

6. Again the Busheviks exceed my own prediction for Totalitarian Evil
Recruiting his own Extralegal Task Force WITHIN the Imperial Senate was something lower and more odious than I ever expected.

8. Kirk Pleads Lewinsky Defense In Spy-Agency Charge
Denying the accuracy of the Congressional Record, Mark Kirk (Republican, 10th District, Illinois) said he is not working for the Central Intelligence Agency. The Congressional Record, the official verbatim transcript of everything said on the floor of the House of Representatives, shows that on June 23, 2004, Kirk said he “is” working for the Central Intelligence Agency. Kirk’s Democratic opponent, Lee Goodman, pointed out that Kirk’s employment by the C.I.A. while serving in Congress would be unethical and illegal. When questioned about the matter by a reporter for the Waukegan News Sun newspaper, Kirk said the Congressional Record was wrong. Kirk said that although he used to work for the C.I.A. while he was also working for the U.S. State Department, he no longer works for the spy agency.
