""Dick Cheney Can Be President," he snapped."
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 02:36 PM by ABB_15501
More wonderfully inclusive, uniter, not a divider rhetoric from the boy King.

I really am beginning to wonder about his sanity. Does he, even for a moment, think that people aren't going to compare his government experience to Edwards'?

He is really showing he has lost it, now. It will only get worse.

On edit, I added: The title bar is all in quotes, as this is lifted straight from The NYTimes.com. Yes, they used the verb "snapped"- right on the front page. I hope they use it in print, too.

1. Yuppers -
I agree that the man has gone bonkers. But that scares the crap out of me. Might make him just that much more desperate to stay in power. Another questionable election, and I'm afraid this country will go down the tubes.

4. Gone bonkers? He's been bonkers.
The good news is that he appears to have slipped his leash. His handlers can't control him anymore.

How long before he actually stumbles and falls during an appearance? Or curses at a reporter on camera? Or starts talking in tongues in the middle of a stump speech?

7. So Caligula was bonkers and everyone knew it. That didn't stop him
Nor even slow him down.

Besides Imperial Amerikans are much like the Imperial Romans of that time.

If told Bunnpyants* thinks himself transformed into a God, then a fair propoation (perhaps a majority) will still believe and support him.

11. Probably true -
And I'm waiting to see U.S. troops gathering sea shells on the sea shore. On The Emperors orders.

14. But, but that was a different time, when
if you were disrespectful of the emperor, you were either demoted, banished or otherwise ruined. Maybe even thrown to the lions.

Oh, yeah. I get it. This is where they learned how to govern.

Just ask Paul O'Neil, or Richard Clarke or Valarie Plaime or Sibel Edmonds or ... The list is pretty long, isn't it?

2. Maybe we should listen to Bush
After all, he knows what kind of job someone with only 6 years of public service experience can do in the WHite House.....

3. Ahem.
But Cheney COULD be the President. I mean, he's been the President for 4 years already, what's the difference. . .

You don't suppose the NeoCons planned on running. . . CHENEY in 2008, do you? Cheney/Ridge 2008? Gives me the creeps.

5. He is president, Chimpy
I agree 100%. The rethugs' virulent, apoplectic attacks on Edwards show their desperation. The blinding speed of them also lays bare the fact that they have nothing positive to say and have to rely on shrill, transparent smears and innuendo.

"Well I'm presidentin and Unka Dick is way more intelligenter than I Are"

9. He's so out of touch
and so used to getting his way that he just assumes if he says it "the little people" (his subjects) will not be smart enough to take notice.

What he lacks in the brains department he makes up for in arrogance.

10. Maybe Cheney could be President...
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 02:51 PM by w13rd0
...but we want a GOOD President, not an evil cyborg right-wing potty-mouthed whack job. Cheney was one of the five most radical conservatives in Congress. A complete and total RW flake.

12. You beat me to this one!
I was going to say maybe they should compare Edwards & Cheney. The results would be more experience isn't necessarily better in this case!

16. Bonkers?
Bonkers isn't the word for whatever is wrong with this asshole. Just look at his face. This is not the face of a rational human.

17. What a dreadful performer
He was obviously coached to answer this with this specific and terse, scripted reply, and he can't even get that right. It was obvious that a question like this was going to be asked, and his handlers wanted him to answer it with a conclusive and short response to bolster the illusion of him being the decisive leader.

By barking out an answer like this showed how terrible a performer he is: it showed contempt for anyone who'd even consider anything else, it showed thinly veiled nastiness and just plain bad timing. There should have been a slight pause and it should have been more factual, and along with the nastiness was that tiresome smugness.

Even if he wasn't such a megadick, I want to see Junior gone just for being such a deplorable performer. It's like that moment in Woody Allen's "Bullets Over Broadway" where the gangster takes the actress behind a crate and says: "I just have to tell you: you're a terrible actress" and then shoots her repeatedly. For sheer respect for oratory, I want this nobody retired in complete humiliation. I don't want a hair harmed on his empty little head, and I hope he lives to be a hundred in his abject embarrassment.

Oh, and then there's all that evil...
