Ken Lay's indictment will never amount to anything
Because at some point, he's going to be pardoned by Shrub. If Shrub loses, he'll be pardoned before the end of this year.

Anyone disagree?

3. He won't need to
It'll never make it into court before the election.

Come November 3rd, guaranteed, behind closed doors discussions will begin on the right time to pardon Kenny Boy.

15. This is a federal indictment in Houston...
Eliot Spitzer has nothing to do with it.

8. The indictment is sealed, No one knows what the charges are.
http://money.cnn.com/2004/07/07/news/newsmakers/lay/index.htm?cnn=yes

From the article --

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Former Enron Chairman and CEO Kenneth Lay has been indicted by a grand jury in Houston, a person close to the investigation told CNNfn Wednesday.

But the person said that the indictment remains under seal. An announcement could come Thursday. The Justice Department declined to comment.

9. I Disagree
The party regulars would never allow it. It would damage the whole agenda immeasurably.

The reason i say this is because i believe that Spitzer would never have sought the indictment at all unless they had Lay dead to rights. I think this is a no doubt about it, slam dunk prosecution.

The regulars and power brokers would rather let Lay wither on the vine (or slammer) than look like anything other than the party of law and order. It sends their soundbite agenda down the toilet.

He will not get away with it. He will not be pardoned. And, he deserves it.
The Professor

11. Unlike the US AG's office, shrubco does not control Spitzer or the
NY office, at least not directly. Do they?

13. Agreed
Even if lay is found guilty there is no way he will do any serious time.
