It's no longer about Bush. |

From the excruciatingly long and divisive electoral college decisions in 2000; through the bitter mid term elections; to the rancorous rise of partisanship at any price in Congress; the repetitive "bait and switch" enactment of unfunded, underfunded or plainly misrepresented federal initiatives; to the manipulation of Congress, the UN and the public, after the attacks of 9/11, enabling the war in Iraq; to the pervasive peddling of fear as a federal, and local, agenda from the right wing...there has been a vocal and steady sense among Democratic partisans that this coming election is about ABB - any body but Bush.
It's no longer about ABB.
After a roller coaster Democratic primary season, the party has got itself a one two punch in the battle both sides label "an election for the future".
The Republicans pose a future of a steady state unilateral global war against a vague and elusive enemy. They claim this as victory.
The Democrats pose a future of multilateral, reasoned, nuanced response, as a world partner, to militancy in the world. We claim this as reality.
Today, our ticket, as families, walked out for the cameras and showed a simple, graphic and optimistic portrait of a future we all hold dear.
It's no longer about Bush. It's about us.

Yes, it needs to be all about us, the people, instead of being all about those rich, white, older repukes like it has been for the last 3 and a half years.

2. Ultimately, I think this has always been the case. |
|
It is not just about having a moron as a president, it is about the future.

4. yeah, I think the picture of the families today gelled something for me, |
|
as corny as that sounds.
I know we Dems won't stop every evil in the world, right every wrong, or solve every problem to come down the pike.
But, I realized I was bone tired of the fear campaign from the right.
The Kerry/Edwards family photo op just got me, y'know?
