Poll question: Will the election be legitimate? Completely? |
|
Or will the Reich cheat or suspend it due to a terror attack.

1. I'd say we've never had a 'completely' legitimate election |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 07:09 PM by jpgray
But no, so long as there is E-voting, this one will not be legitimate by our normal standards, even though Kerry may win despite that.

3. I voted for option number three, but I imagine they'll try to cheat -m |
|
in more than just one way.
Voting machines. Once again trying to block people of color from voting in various ways. And unfortunately they'll be successful at least part of the time. Recounts that are carefully done by sympathetic people. etc.

4. They will cheat using Deibold, but |
|
will also use every other dirty, mafia type trick they can think of.
If Florida is intelligent enough to go for Kerry-Edwards, and Jeb can't, in some "devious" way corrupt the results, it will be the greatest thing since the discovery of ice cream.

Why even bother to vote if you think things are that bad? It will go off with normal problems. ( Florida?? don't know about that one)

10. Why not be realistic and look the monsters in their faces? |
|
The problems that have been experienced with elections are not "normal", and the game is much more sophisticated now with 3 1/2 years of public brainwashing.
Your question about Florida is mind-boggling.

By Florida, I mean that I'm not so sure that will go off normally. I am very aware of what has happened in Florida and what could happen.
I am, however, not too worried about wide-spread voter fraud. I know that it is an unpopular opinion on DU. Everyone seems to be in a fever about it except me and ZombyWoof.

because we have to try. after the 2K coup, i lost faith. w/in 2 weeks of his oath on the omnipresent "bahbul", he stated publicly that he had no trouble w/ a dictatorship as long as he was the dictator. seems like a joke, a really lame joke, in very poor taste; but i saw the look on his face as he said it.
you'd think his handlers wd have straightened him out, but he repeated the same comment quite some time later.
they distracted the public & sent us to war on bogus excuses instead of pursuing our enemies. Afghanistan served it's purpose, so they virtually abandoned it. the taliban is slowly regaining control.
they lie, cheat, steal & murder w/o compunction. they've stolen billions from the treasury to pay no bid contracts to the in-crowd, restoring the deficit. those same companies then also get to steal iraqi assets.
i think it's naive to think they won't do EVERYTHING possible to retain the power they already stole once.
i'll vote because i won't roll over & let them retain it legitimately. i'll vote because it's all we can do.
for now.

16. EXACTLY! The Last Great Act of Defiance! |
|
Remember that poster from the Sixties? It showed a tiny mouse on the ground. A divebombing eagle was headed straight for the mouse with razor sharp talons forward and grasping. Death was imminent and unavoidable... the mouse stood straight up with one tiny paw held stiffly upward toward the diving eagle... flipping him off!
My vote is my middle finger poked STRAIGHT in the eye of the fucking goddam Republicam HAWKS who are diving down on our country.
Anybody want to run that graphic? Google on the term "Last Great Act of Defiance"

The eagle may eat me, but by God I'll CHOKE the fucker on the way down!

9. several areas of malfeasance |
|
Repukes control the majority of governorships and state legislatures nation-wide. They will use this to try to steal the election.
Repukes will try to prevent voters from voting through voter list purges a la Florida. Also through strongarm tactics near polls (police presence, roadblocks, etc.). Also through tactics of confusion--moving or consolidating or grossly understaffing polling places, gimmicked ballots, and other attempts to confuse the voters in Democratic strongholds in swing states.
Repukes will manipulate elcetronic voting results wherever and whenever possible. They'll Diebold about 35% of the vote. Kerry needs to win at least 70% of the actual vote in order to break even.
Repukes will selectively contest results and fight recounts, using bussed-in thugs and "demonstrators," strongarm tactics/intimidation, appeals to the neocon-infested federal judiciary and all other means at their disposal.
More than one influential Democratic politician or activist will die in mysterious accidents.

based on a nike jihad attack (black ops). a very real possibility.
a suspicion rather than a prediction: another black op takes him out, making it look like an assassination, crazy lib or muslim extremist. they run giuliano in his place: faux hero (he seemed to be top of things in NY after the attack because he'd been tipped, and the spin was in) + martyr= shoe-in. biz as usu.
we're fucked.
