Has anyone here been polled? |
|
Or known anyone who has been polled by the big guys? (Gallup, Zogby, ABC etc)
I ask this because my wife and I have this theory that only certain people are polled and liberals aren't included in that group.
What say you DU? Who has been polled?

2. Nope I'm on the do not call list |
|
Nope I'm on the do not call list and I only use a cell phone.
The polls don't take into account that most lower income people are ditching their land lines do they?
How can polls even be accurate if a segment of society does not list their phone numbers or are not available for polling???

and your wife are delusional. I have been polled by Gallup. I am a Liberal. My ex wife used to be in telemarketing and they have every phone number combination known in a certain area. I suspect polling outfits are the same. For example, the first three digits of my phone no. are 326. Now use every combo of 326 you can think of. Its a computerized list. 326-0000, 326-0001, etc. A lot of people have cell phones too, and those numbers are not listed in a regular phone directory.

11. we're not delusional... just asking a question |
|
and being sarcastic about it at the same time. Neither we or anyone else we know has ever been polled. I know someone is getting polled, I'm just trying to find out who.

8. I was polled by Gallup |
|
but it wasn't a political poll. I can't remember what it was about because it was years ago. I answered the question and told the woman to call me for the political stuff, too.
I did get polled last year but don't remember who did the poll. It was political. I was pushing "4" on my phone a lot because that was the number for "Poor" for questions regarding Bush.
I was polled once about my preference for canned beans (I kid you not) and it was a long poll. Totally bizarre. I asked the guy why anyone would spend the money to do a poll on canned beans.

In fact, I just answered their poll a couple of hours ago. It comes in my email fairly frequently. This one asked me my current voting preferences. Most of them ask the same questions, except this time it listed Edwards on the ticket. The last poll, around a month ago was weird in that it asked me all about Italian stereotypes.

and I also thought that Italian-American poll was odd. Fun though, because I went to high school with a bunch of dagos and my best friend is a wop. :D
But I haven't been "called" (emailed) for about a month, now.

21. I get an email survey from Zogby about every two weeks |
|
Perhaps Florida has something to do with it. They also seem to be very interested in measuring my resolve...that is, how likely I am to changing my vote between now and November.
Not a chance!

16. I don't know if you consider Quinnipiac a big poll, |
|
but it is around here. They called last week. I was so excited! They asked the age in the household and who had the next birthday -- I was honest and said my husband's was next. They asked to speak with him. I was crushed. The upside is, he answered just as I would have.
Also, my ulta-liberal sister was polled by Zogby last year.

I think the BIG BOYS are pretty ligit. I did notice however, some polls are phrased to force a particular answer they are looking for. You know, the questions you read, and say, now how the heck do I answer that one?
