My dads Repug friend is worried the dems will win the WH and congress
The guy definately falls into the category of wealthiest 1% but is also a tight-wad and thus loves his Bush tax cut. He's very worried that Bush has pissed so many people off that not only will Kerry win with a landslide, but the democrats could take both houses of congress. Nice to know that we have them worried.

1. I agree with him
hopefully the Dem Party as a whole can come up with a good progressive moderate set of ideals to run on. The GOP always unifies behind a strong message..I wish we could do the same.

3. The Congress looks iffy.
We could with luck take Alaska, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Illinois, but we need to hold five southern states -- NC, FL, LA, GA, and SC.

The situation in the House is far worse when we examine the open seats.

4. We may have a chance to get Marilyn Musgrave out
The guy who ran against her last time is running again. Stan Matsunaka. He's a good guy. Running on a "what-the-hell-gay-marriage-amendment-we're-farmers-dammit" platform.

5. Doesn't look iffy to me....

When the ship of state springs a leak, you'd better just hope your base doesn't consist of rats.

Those rich pukes who owe it all to the GOP don't give campaign contributions to losers--and they don't need a weatherman.

Kerry is going to go down in history for having the longest coattails of any candidate ever.

The redistricting imposed on this district opens up a real chance to add HUGE Dem neighborhoods to overthrough a Repug who is no friend to reproductive choice. on edit:

6. Bush cured my Pub friend
Okay, I told ya my Mormon sister in Utah is fed up with that state and wants to leave.

Now, a friend of ours says he will NEVER vote for a Republican again. I was shocked to find out he was Republican, he is really a wonderfully nice guy. His son lost his job and my husband joked about there being openings in Special Forces and that everybody is rah rah Bush until it's their kid that has to go. Well this guy WENT OFF, ranted about Bush and how awful he is and the kicker was that he made the voting remark and then said "Bush cured me of that!"

Wohoo!!

My dad also has repuglican friends that are scared shitless right now... I've been very kind and haven't said a thing since they are elderly, but I'm very happy that they are worried.

yeah, right. WTF is he worried about? Nobody will even get a day docked out of their pension, if the past is any indication of how the Dems will treat the Pukkkes.
