Katie Couric is giddy over McCain!
Geez, she reminded me of my 14 year old daughter meeting a cute guy for the first time. I think I even saw her blush.

When suggesting a Bush/McCain ticket, she had a grin like she just said something like "Ohh your muscles are sooooo big" to a high school football player.

1. She can't help herself-she's a former cheerleader--
I think that pretty much says it all--doesn't it? Just like she served as a cheerleader to BushCo both in the run-up to war and afterwards.

2. That's just her normal perkiness
Not sure when the McCain segment was on, but saw the segment she did this morning regarding Edwards being a trial lawyer. Had a former client of Edwards on and some guy representing a group for tort reform. Thought she came down pretty hard on the tort reform guy and was sympathetic for the type of cases Edwards has tried.

6. Last night on Fox (there is a thread in DU somewhere) he said
NO OFFER HAD BEEN MADE by Kerry, he does not want to be on anybody's ticket.

9. He said he would not be a VP
Not as a repug, a dem or libertarian. I missed when she asked him about *'s new ad -- wish I had heard it -- he didn't look happy. I heard the tail end and I think he said the didn't use him in their 2000 ads. Wish I had heard that!

12. Or as a vegetarian, he added. n/t
He said he wished the Kerry campaign would not use comments he made in 2000. Of course, one of their comments from him was from 2004 and about how the Iraq war policy has failed.

He also said he wished both sides would not use personal attacks and would focus on the issues.

was replaced on the ticket. Right...headline in October: "Cheney stricken- Powell steps up as VP"
