Bu$h refuses to answer questions about Ken Lay

US President George W. Bush walks away from a briefing with the media, refusing to answer questions after he was asked about Enron and the reported indictment of former CEO Kenneth Lay, who was a close adviser and fund-raiser for Bush and his father, earning him the presidential nickname of 'Kenny Boy.'

Seems the Boy King is a little sensitive today? Anyone know when and where this little press briefing took place? I can't tell from the info with the photo. I would love to see the video.

2. Is this for real?
Did he actually walk out on a press conference because he didn't want to answer questions about that man, Mr. Lay?

Dear God, he's come positively undone, hasn't he? :D

6. The unraveling continues
Someone ought to start a pool on how long it will be before Bush suffers an aneurysm on TV cutting off reporters or snipping like he did on the Edwards question the other day. They are really coming apart and losing control. Keep the pressure on, that's the key.

9. Ken who?

As if he doesn't have enough, his golfing buddy and campaign backer has to answer for tanking a major company, defrauding California, putting tens of thousands on unemployment, destroying pension funds of those worker and other investors, etc.

He's not having a good day. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving individual. Pile on!

11. a neocon response
this guy says to me today:

Enron donated MILLIONS to both parties. Granted, the GOP got more from them, but why not; they are the party in power and that is typically how the game works. You seem to forget that the bad dealings of Ken and company OCCURRED during the Clinton years. They just were not EXPOSED until the Bush years. So who, can it be said, did more? Bush as far as I can tell.

Clinton let the corporations run amok and it has come back to bite all Americans in the ass. EVERY corporate bigwig under indictment are under indictment for scandals that they perpetuated during the 90's. Who was supposed to be watching out for the "little guys" then? Well, the dems and they weren't. But hell, their rants against "big business" do sound good in a sound bites even if they don't mean a damn thing.

22. I thought these were responsible people?
I've yet to meet a neo-con who believed in responsibility and accepting consequences. I guess that neo-con has no problem with criminal behavior as long as he can say, "It's Clinton's fault that they're crooks!"

23. I Thought They Wanted Less Regulation
The "free marketeers" all want absolutely minimal regulations on business and let the "magic" of the free market work.

So, exactly what did he want Clinton to do. And, oh by the way, Presidents don't pass regulations on business. Congress does. Who was in power in Congress then? Oh Yeah! Now, i remember.

Your acquaintance is an idiot.

29. Welcome to DU. Ask your friend, "If Clinton was so good for
corporations, then why don't the Republicans love Clinton?" Isn't leaving corporations alone one part of their mantra?

And if he let corporations run amok, why are trial lawyers bad? Isn't making corporations behave the domain of trial lawyers?

Bush has been in office over 3 1/2 years; when is stuff his fault?

26. Seems W is laying very low the last few days
Still no comment about his behavior last night or his reaction to his pal Kenny Boy being indicted? Makes you wonder what else is coming down that W had to push the panic button this morning, and start his sky is falling crap again?

All I can say, he looks to be in very bad shape right now. I have serious concerns about his competence and ability to perform the duties of POTUS.
I think it is way past time that Mr. Bu$h considers tendering his resignation. He is in way over his head and he has made quite a mess of things. IT'S TIME FOR HIM TO GO.

31. I wonder if Shrub bought a birthday card for Kenny Boy
or just sent the letter on the Guv letterhead so the State of Texas could pay for it all.

(I know the amount isn't very much)

A personal letter from the Governor with the Governor's seal was something Ken could wave in the faces of his buddies at the club.
It's all a big dick waving contest.
