Imagine Kerry/Edwards 15 to 20 points up and still losing the election?
Edited on Thu Jul-08-04 08:50 AM by trumad
Imagine if there are multi-State mishaps regarding BBV? Imagine no mechanism for recounts? Imagine thousands of disenfranchised voters!

Look...Ya hate to harp on the Sky is Falling scenario but in my mind this scenario ain't as crackpot as it seems.

This election is important in so many ways... If the above scenario happens it will certainly kick off the biggest constitutional crisis the country has ever seen. I don't pray to often...but I am praying that this does not happen. I do not want to see my country disintegrate on my watch nor my kids watch. But then again, this country has become so impassive that it may only be a week long event until the next episode of American Idol or the Intern!

1. I don't think they can be that brazen
they'll use BBV to swing close elections, and they'll use control of the media to make sure no polls show a 15-20% lead for the good guys.

It will likely be closer to 1-2%, if that.

2. I am fully expecting the scenerio you suggest
Which is why the Bushies and their media whores are so desperate to make us believe this is a "close race." It is not a close race, and every American paying attention knows it. An election theft with just a 50/50 split would cause people to be upset. An election theft with a 70-30 split will be the catalyst for revolution.

7. are we sure about that?
i'm just going to assume full foil mode here but:
remember the NH primary? several posters at dean's site and elsewhere reported that in the hand counted districts, dean and kerry were tied. in those in which machines counted, kerry "blew away" dean by the margin we remember. kerry is no slouch when it comes to behind the scenes politics, and he is, ahem, S&B, for whatever that's worth.

so far he's played his cards much more smartly than i'd expected. as a dean supporter, i can say while i don't like it, i do understand that the media monster is the real enemy and so far kerry is doing it just right. i don't know what to expect if the lying polls keep saying he's tied with bush, but i am sure he's already planning for it and will have something to counter them.

of course, i could be totally wrong and my original fears that bush has the machines set up and ready to go could be true.

4. If it happens, I'm going to Washington!
Or Florida or Ohio!

Yeeeeaaaarrrrrggghhhh!

Seriously, I'm saving up some money right now and thinking about arrangements for someone to watch my kids. I'm not sitting at home helplessly watching another election stolen and a Democracy destroyed.

I'm a peaceful person, but I'm gong to be in the street holding my sign and being heard this time.

5. Imagine rioting in the streets?
Yep.

Imagine Edwards rolling over and playing dead like Lieberman?

Hahahaha

Imagine FL minority voters peacefully counting on the senate to stand up for their rights this time around? I don't think so.

Unfortunately, I think your scenario is likely, but it isn't going to go down easily. Too many people are too aware and too angry.

Unfortunately, I suspect that even if they don't manage to fake the election, that the pukes will not leave easily.

6. Forewarned is forearmed
People are acting proactively to prevent this.

I am sure it will happen at least in some places. It's up to us to do everything in our power to prevent it.

Unfortunately I fear that when it does happen, that people will riot. That will only give them an excuse to activate FEMA's more worrisome powers, declare martial law, or some other horrible plan. We can't play into their hands.

8. Like I said...there's a lot banking on this election...
I say this gently but the future of our country is at stake for many reasons... This election is certainly the most important election of my lifetime!
