HAHAHAHA! Paula Zahn examines media controversy re:Bush
"Have the media gone too easy on Bush" tonight at 8.

Anyone want to guess who the roundtable participants will be? My guess:
Grover Norquist
Jeffrey Lowry
Michael Isikoff

18. I love that, GiovanniC!
That's pretty much the way it's been, too. "On the right, we have the editor of The Weekly Standard. On the left, the editor of "The New Republic".

4. Bah. Paula Zahn lost my respect...
...eons ago. Who cares what SHE says? Well, I guess some folks do but she lost my respect even before I told TimeWanker to shove their cable up their a** and quit watching TV.

She's a well-implanted mediawhore and little else.

5. Why not go to the top and ask the horse's mouth - Karl Rove?
BTW, I've never heard him speak publicly, except a sound byte when he was delivering a college commencement address (on integrity, as I recall!).

I WONDER WHY...

9. In F9/11 she's in the clip
of FOX giving the election results. The affiliation with FOX shown on the big screen will follow her forever. Working for FOX is like stepping in doggy-doo, you can clean your shoes but the stink still follows you around.

7. I'm sure it will be fair & balanced
NOT! Even if they have Begala & Carville on the Left and Novak & Carlson on the right, Paula will start with N&C, let B&C respond, and the segment wraps up with final statements from N&C.

8. pfffft
Perhaps the theme should be "Has CNN Gone Too Easy on Bush?" Zahn would be the perfect spokeswoman for the 'yes' position.

I saw the promo this morning and just shook my head in disgust. This is the network of Crowley, Woodruff, Blitzer (who leans forward in the posture of a rat attacking an infant whenever someone questions the war and snarls, "But you DO agree that Iraq is better off without Saddam???")

This is the network that featured Kyra Phillips on the deck of the USS Lincoln exorting a Navy pilot to 'wave for the cameras' while he was on his takeoff roll.

Christ, we could do a whole video clip library of CNN's whoring and just let Zahn roll the film - that alone would surely answer the question posed in her promo.

15. Ugh...I tried to forget that Kyra Phillips bit on the carrier
I think that is what Michael Moore meant with this "cheerleading" comments.

I'm surprised she didn't have pom-poms and sparklers.

16. I try to forget it, too
But that scene on the carrier just resonates with me. It demonstrated, in a nutshell, the US media's appalling response to the war. For all Phillips knew, that Navy pilot wouldn't return from his mission alive, but she acted like it was a freaking high school football game.

Hey, let's fill this thread up with examples of CNN's 'going too easy' on Bush and I'll email the thread to the Zahn show in advance. Maybe it'll give them something to mull over, and we all know that we have thousands of examples of their whoring.

10. Paula's interview with Scott Ritter
Aired September 9, 2002
(I remember this interview. Paula literally sneered at him like she found what he was saying so totally offensive. HEY PAULA, THE BOY WAS RIGHT WASN"T HE??)

http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0209/09/ltm.14.html

ZAHN: I want to have, hear your reaction to the whole range of Bush administration officials yesterday who essentially came out and have said that Saddam Hussein has been trying to obtain materials to build nuclear weapons, particularly trying to buy thousands of aluminum pipes that could be used in the manufacture of a centrifuge and ultimately used to manufacture weapons.

What do you make of that?

RITTER: What an absurd statement. Thousands of aluminum pipes, and we're going to go to war over thousands of aluminum pipes? Even the ISS report that you cite says that if Iraq was to have trying to do uranium enrichment, it would take them many years before they could do it. This is patently ridiculous. These are aluminum pipes coming in for civilian use. They are not being transferred to a covert nuclear processing plant or any covert nuclear activity whatsoever.

<snip>

ZAHN: But, Scott, why are you so convinced that these pipes would be used for civilian use when so many other people out there are absolutely convinced these pipes could ultimately be used to build a centrifuge? I mean that is true. These pipes could be used that way, right?

RITTER: Sure they could. But you say they're ultimately convinced. What makes them convinced? What evidence do they have? We're talking about going to war here, Paula. War. War kills people. War destroys things. War is something that's going to put the lives of American service members at risk and if we go to war along the lines that Bush is talking about, destroy our reputation in the international community.

12. Thanks For That Replay!!! Scott Ritter - American Hero!!!
Where's he been lately? I would have thought I was going to see him in F911.

Zahn is a Bush family whore. Not only the way she shills for this regime, but her almost Pollyana-ish, Peggy Noonan idol worship of Poppy. Sheesh, CNN must have shown that old bastard's WWII reunion a dozen times when it first came out, and again last weekend when they had nothing else worth showing.

The best way Zahn could answer her own rhetorical (and already answered) question, would be just replay bits like this and with virtually any anti-war critic she sniped at prior to the invasion.

13. what's really going to be screamingly funny...
Is that you indeed do know what Zahn will conclude at the end of her freepfest....that "No, the media hasn't been too easy on Bush, in fact they've been far too tough".

You can put money on her 'answer'. And the fact that somehow, someway, she'll blame it all on the Democrats.

Bush is toast, and NOW she asks this question? Sorry, this is a lame attempt to salvage a bit of credibility by "asking the hard questions" when it doesn't matter anymore.
