3. Off-topic but
Would you consider doing a story on the continued rumblings about elections cancellations in the event of a terrorist strike?
A question was asked about this to Tom Ridge at his press conference and he replied they are looking into the possibilities. This trial balloon needs to be SHOT DOWN NOW! People can't be allowed to even BEGIN to become comfortable with the idea.

4. Geez. Who cares?
I mean, who has time to read or think about that stuff when we have plastic sheeting and duct tape to put up?

(OT: Nice piece on George and Kenny-Boy!)

5. A crowd flowed over London bridge, so many
I had not thought death had undone so many
Sighs, short and infrequent, were exhaled,
And each man fixed his eyes before his feet.
Flowed up the hill and down King William Street,
To where Saint Mary Woolnoth kept the hours
With a dead sound on the final stroke of nine.
There I saw one I knew, and stopped him, crying: 'Stetson! 6
'You who were with me in the ships at Mylae!
'That corpse you planted last year in your garden,
'Has it begun to sprout? Will it bloom this year?
'Or has the sudden frost disturbed its bed?
'O keep the Dog far hence, that's friend to men,
'Or with his nails he'll dig it up again!
'You! Hypocrite lecteur! - mon semblable, - mon frère!'

- TS Eliot, "The Wasteland"

6. 998 injured?? Times TEN, maybe
A nurse at the hospital in Germany said that they got a planeload a DAY, and then sent a planeload every FEW days to the US..

They have seriously low-balled the injury numbers..

It's no wonder they have to keep calling up reserves..the injuries are horriffic, and once injured, most cannot return to the war...most have to leave the service..and that's when their real troubles begin..
