so I got questioed about being a terrorist

it's a funny story. when I left work on tuesday there was a cop by my car, and he said that the police needed to talk to me about somthing, but he wouldn't say what. He told me to call a number, and it was the narcotics/special investigation unit. so I called and agreed to meet with the guy the next day after work. So I waited like forty minutes on wednesday until two undercover cops showed up and asked me where I was from, how old, have I ever traveled out of the country, was I muslim, did I know and muslims, ect... After That they laughed and showed me a picture of one of the seven wanted terrorist that was all over the news a couple months ago. apparently some thought I looked like one of the guys. It was kinda funny once it was all over, but I was worried as hell for no reason for like 2 days.

I think someone at the DMV thought I looked like the guy, because I just got my licence renewed, and I bet they have the pictures of the terrorists there, because that would be the first place to get an id.

anyway I live in st paul mn in case anyone is wondering.

5. That is really disturbing to hear!
How many times does this happen in our country? I fear for our Muslim community, what a disgrace.

7. I'm not even arab or anything
I just a regular guy born in Minnesota. the guy who someone thought I looked like is from california, and I'm not even sure what his background is. He looks kinda like an american indian.

I think the name was Adam yasiah gadahn. his picture is at fbi.gov

strange though, that I would be mistaken as him.

6. Hey, Just be Glad
they didn't invoke some of that Patriot Act BS and throw you in some hidden prison complex. They could have tortured your firstborn to get info. They only asked some questions. This time.

Be careful, Friend.

10. I was thinking the same thing...
Iraqi citizens have been "detained" and "softened up" for interrogation by mercenary goons working on the "pay based on performance" plan.

This could have turned out a lot worse.

An afterthought: I am a little surprised that the officers requested you call them for an appointment for the next day. I would've imagined that, given a tip, they would've acted immediately to interview you and not necessarily at your convenience.

8. There was an article the other day where it stated the Feds were enlisting
truck drivers to spy on fellow travelers. The truck drivers were sent to training classes in learning how to spot "terrorists".

9. If that ever happens again, here's what you should say
Q: Have you ever travelled out of the country?

A: I have the right to travel abroad if I so choose, therefore I refuse to answer that question.

Q: Are you a Muslim?

A: I have the constitutional right to practice the religion of my choice, therefore I refuse to answer that question.

Q: Do you know any Muslims?

A: I have the constitutional right to freely associate with whatever persons I choose, therefore I refuse to answer that question.

Unless you are charging me with a crime, this conversation is finished. If you have any future questions of me, I will not answer them without my attorney present.
