What is the one thing Edwards has that makes Bush shake? |
|
Is it the youthful good looks? The fresh face? Or maybe the optimism, in contrast to the Repug Demolition Derby which steamrolls over its opponents by trying to run over them.
How about integrity? A little more believable this time...
There was a photo in the paper with Bush-Cheney and Kerry-Edwards in another photo. The difference was striking.
While all of these are good, there's one thing that John Edwards has that Bush cannot compete with.
It's Edwards' talking ability.

2. Bush seems threatened by Edwards |
|
I recall in one of Bush's speeches in front of Congress, he made some snide remark and the camera focused on Edwards...
It seems there is a jealousy there--almost as if Edwards is who Bush wishes he could present himself as.

6. I remember that jab at lawyers... |
|
It's pathetic that he thinks he can paint Edwards as a sleazy lawyer, when it's his sleazy bidness friends that are crooks and destroyed our economy.
Since when did a lawyer fighting for the little guy steal billions and use their money to influence the government?
I don't think he can take this pressure much longer...he's gonna blow!

...bu$hit is an underachiever and Edwards is an overachiever. It's interestinK that they tout Edwards lack of experience for VP.
With an idiot like bu$hit in the big chair, we have to have a VP that is capable of being P at any moment (and in the case of bu$h/TrickyDick II - *most* moments).
However, with Kerry/Edwards, Edwards certainly will need to be able to take over at a moment's notice if necessary, but Edwards will NOT have to run the friggin country for Kerry because Kerry *also* (and this is what the Repugs despise) has intelligence and won't need Edwards to do that unless something drastic happens. With bu$h/TrickyDickII, TrickyDickII is running the place, essentially (and that's not good news either)
Furthermore, it's just damn hypocritical - bu$hit had ZERO foreign policy and pissy little political experience himself when he was appointed and his record shows he did a lousy job with what little he DID have (in the case of foreign policy: ZERO and boy does it show).
Edwards is young, intelligent, sharp - everything bu$hit isn't. I have no qualms about Edwards being P or VP - he can handle it.
bu$h, however - well, that's another matter entirely.

How about, he actually seems to care about other human beings, unlike * who sees everyone else as scenery and stage props in his own little fantasy world.

23. He's a boot-strapper. |

Plain and simple, this guy wasn't handed every opportunity he's had in life. He went out and worked for it. He's about 400,000 times more resilient and mature than Bush could ever dream of being.
Bush has had money, connections, name recognition, healthy children, relatives that will not let ethics stand in the way of their power or vindictiveness, and a host of other advantages.
Edwards has no name recognition, no nationally known family. He built his career and education on his own merit and effort. He came back from a family tragedy and looked to the future.
And I have to say this: Edwards is such a pleasant and articulate man. Bush just comes across as so testy and verbally challenged. It's no contest in terms of presentation.
