the next attack on the homeland
does anyone think bush would purposely allow another terrorist attack on "the homeland" as a cynical ploy to pre-certify his election victory in november?

1. Personally?
Edited on Thu Jul-08-04 03:32 PM by aden_nak
I think Bush would allow just about anything to make sure that he is re-elected. In fact, I don't think I can put a cap on the body count that he would find acceptable, provided that he didn't know any of the dead folks personally.

Yes, I really do think he's that bad. Why is it that only OTHER COUNTRIES can have murderers and sadists as leaders? I think that's awfully close-minded of us, don't you?

Of course he would. Will he, could he, that's different... But "would he" is self-evident.

6. Of course--but with a twist this time
The "terrorist attack" will be narrowly averted by the Bushistas and they'll come out looking like heroes. The press will go apeshit in their glorification of the Bush god and the Murkan sheeple will elect him emperor for life.

after the election regardless of who wins.

We expect one before, not after.

9. You mean as the final "F*ck Off!" on the way out of office?
By the way, I posted this above, definitely worth a read:

Bush anything but moronic Basic gist: Bush is a sociopath, not an idiot.

I just don't see how another attack would make him look good. If anything it would make him look bad because everyone would think he was incompetent and lying about protecting us better.

18. To Borknagar
I think another attack before the election could make people fearful of changing administrations in the midst of it. And isn't a lot of this operating on the public's fear already? Just my opinion, and it certainly won't deter me!

if they do it, it will because they already know they've lost any chance @ winning an election, even by fraud. it's the only scenario i can see that wd make americans accept martial law & suspension of the constition. 'course i've been called a tinfoiler & drama queen for even considering it as a possibility.

i just can't imagine these soulless fucks leaving peacefully

EDIT: sorry, got carried away: hi, and welcome to the resistance!

22. that is what i think
and is why i used quotation marks. "the homeland" is a bush mind ploy to dupe people into giving up their personal freedoms so that power may be concentrated into the presidency. wait and see how freepers will want to close homeland security when it is in the hands of the democrats.

17. An example of "tough choices" Bush has to make
Bush loves to talk about the tough choices he has to make -- must be tough choosing between pretending what you do has kept the country safe from attack, or allowing the country to be attacked so you can use the cover of the chaos in order to maintain your illegal hold on absolute power.

The current spin is "Our Magnificent Chimperial Majesty has prevented attacks on our Homeland since Sept 11. Therefore, we must (re)elect him to keep ourselves from being slaughtered wholesale as would be welcomed by a Kerry administration"

If an attack occurs, however, the spin will be "This is unmistakeable evidence that America needs His Chimperial Majesty more than ever to protect our Homeland. If Democrats hadn't been divisive, we never would have been attacked."

19. Yes he would.
This guy lied to the country in order to lead it to war. Allowing another terrorist attack is small potatoes for these people.

Plus, it's the only way he will be able to justify a draft.

25. If your administration is complicit in
** Letting 3,000 Americans die on 9/11.
** Starting a War with bogus cause.
** Stolen 1/2 Trillion from the Federal Treasury.
** Supporting the gov't of the real source of terror (Saudi Arabia and Pakistan)
** Allowing unmitigated war profiteering.

Would you have a compeling reason to stay in office...at any and all costs?

People ought to really think about how compromised this administration is, given the extreme actions of this administration.

Will there be another terrorist attack? Only if Bush can use it to cancel the elections. I doubt that another terrorist attack will win him any popularity.
