Crossfire! Repuke's Edward's "lack of experience" will backfire on Bush!
Edited on Thu Jul-08-04 05:04 PM by TruthIsAll
On Crossfire, the Repuke mantra was repeated: that Edwards is too inexperienced, especially in foreign policy, to be a viable candidate. It was destroyed totally.

The Democrat Rubin pointed out that Bush had no foreign policy experience as Governor, while Edwards had plenty in the Senate.

The Repuke guest stated to stumble, talking about how a governor's experience in foreign policy is more extensive than that of a U.S. senator. And that Bush, as an executive, met with foreign leaders all around the world. Of course, we know that Bush's "experience" consisted of meetings with his Saudi benefactors and the Taliban in Texas. He never traveled out of the country as far as I'm aware.

The Dems can hang Bush's lack of foreign travel and experience around his neck. Edwards is far more experienced than Bush.

Besides, who the hell can call the Bush "experience" a good thing? We are hated throughout the world, he has increased the terrorist threat, his pre-emptive PNAC wars are counter to our 228 year-old policy of acting in self-defense, he ignored the Geneva conventions and encourages interminable conflicts, rather than containing them.

Name one Bush/Cheney foreign policy accomplishment which improved the lives of anyone other than the Halliburton, Bechtel, Dyncorp and Carlyle fat cats.

1. as far as I know...
...these are the trips outside the US made by citizen George W. Bush (excepting any border crossings he made in his drinking days):

Trips to Scotland as a youth, where he summered on a sheep farm belonging to one of UK's elite financiers and actually did a little sheep herding.

A trip to UK for a friend's wedding.

The infamous trip to UK with his folks, where he insulted the Queen.

A trip to Israel -- before he was governor, I think.

We also know that he spent some time in Alaska working.

Some of this you'll never read in any biography.

2. The trip to Israel was a vacation to the Holy Land w/Laura, wasn't it?
He didn't conduct any governmental business or anything, did he? I don't think so. I think I've heard him or Laura refer to the trip.

3. How did he insult the queen?
I missed that one.

I do remember last year when he went to London and his helicopter ruined the Queen's garden.

4. If meeting with the Taliban counts as Bush's foreign policy experience
please lets make it an issue.

I can't wait for that.

5. Oh, for God's sake
he couldn't even name the president of Pakistan when he was running in 2000. I lived in Texas while he was governor and he did nothing for the state...that is to help...

7. Amazing...They are comparing Edwards' experience to Bush's
Last I checked, Edwards is the presumptive VP. Boy, are the repukes running scared of him or what?

8. Experience is SUPPOSED to enable you to do the job better!
Whatever shrub and Cheney's experiences were obviously failed!

I think that should be the response to this foolishness!
