we've learned to accept ANY outrage, & then we let it fade away
stolen election? oh well, we must move on. enron, worldcom, global crossing? yeah, we got angry, but it's all ancient history now. 9-11, who, what, where, when, why?...followed by apathy, boredom and complacency. patriot act? pnac? tax breaks for the stinking rich?
yeah, we got a little bent out of shape, but we picked ourselves up, brushed ourselves off, and went blank all over again.

seems like we've learned to accept almost any atrocity given out by bushco, every insult, every assault, every ridiculous lie and deception, with an attitude befitting a saint. we whine a little, suffer indignities a little, and then, fall flat, out of apathy and disinterest. bushco praises the troops and appears before crowds but screws the soldiers benefits and futures. bushco strips away our basic freedoms and we swallow it without too much complaint.

the trend seems to be going full bore forward. we are to expect another terror attack, not if but when. no one seems too upset.
bush takes a month off to raise millions while the nation collapses into chaos. keep grazing numbly. blackouts in one third of the eastcoast, electricity prices skyrocketing, if it ain't one thing, it's another. when are we going to get real mad and stay that way?

1. I would have to say apathy and cynicism
Thats what does it for me.
You go out, you talk to people, you try to even make them think for themselves, and you get shouted down by lies about Clinton and bullshit about how Bush is protecting us.

I have now developed an attitude of, "Well, if this is what the stupid public wants, they can go fuck themselves."

I know it gets me nowhere, but more and more it seems that nothing can be done to stop these assholes.

2. "When are we gfoing to get real mad and stay that way?"
Prediction: Only after it is far far too late to do anything about it.

5. Good point, Mopaul!
Where are the huge demonstrations of last year ?
Why doesn't International Answer organize anything anymore?
Wouldn't it be great to have a :
"Bush Lied, people died", and "Bring them home" demonstration ?

6. Not just one, but one in every county of the nation on the
same day. Bush won't be able to hide away anywhere then.

7. I just checked the site at
"Internationalanswer.org", and YESSS !

There is a March on Washington on October 25th!
I wish it was a world wide thing, but hey, it's better than nothing. Maybe the local chapters will work on something locally.

8. 'managed perceptions'
keeping the pot boiling, not too high, nor too low...but keeping the momentum going day in day out, in, out etcetra....
if one reads several tomes on 'current events' such as Mike's 'Stupid white men' Brock's 'blinded by the right' Michael Lind's 'up from conservativism' Mayer and Abramson's 'strange justice' Barb Ehrenreich's extraordinary, prescient (1989) 'Fear of Falling; the inner life of the middle class'.......and follow up with james fetzer's 'murder in dealey plaza'.... one sees that depravity doesn't quite describe the righteous pigs!
the maddening thing is the eagerness of the media to believe that bushco (and the true ruling elite who bushco is small part of) are basically innocent chin stroking professionals who exist in same place as the 'public' re unfolding events and can't be faulted for planning for everything (iePNAC, northwoods) being pros etc.... and there's a personal relationship between rulers/ruled that media type blabbermouths don't really unnerstand....
and the blabbermouths is the very ones pushing that bs....
(has any major news source questioned this power outtage thing, as it's obvious that sabatoge COULD be responsible, the event intended?, and the reasoning behind that?)
