I LOVE John and Teresa Kerry. Larry King now.
These people are REAL. Teresa's talking about Max Cleland being dishonored.

John Kerry is handsome, and smart and will be a FANTASTIC President. Teresa will change the role of First Lady.

And John and Elizabeth Edwards will be doing their thing.

:toast:

Happy days are here again...

1. Agreed...
they're both awesome.

Teresa is just amazing. I hope SHE runs for the senate some day. Maybe she should replace John?

22. Who knows? But this is something that Kerry is going to find from
now until November... He has to know how to turn it to his advantage. I thought his answer about F 9/11 was good: I haven't seen it but I lived it. And I know what happened.
He cannot say he saw it, and actually probably has not seen it. This will give Mike and himself a lot more leeway than if he sees it.

31. That's bullshit
I think Larry is too headstrong to be whorish.

He's a bit more old school than the FOX crowd. He's been around the block. His interview style is a bit simplistic and crude, but I will say he has a knack for asking questions that people at home are wondering about. And that's good.

People like Judy Woodruff whore because they have no real power, talent or appeal.

44. well...
He may not be whorish to a Woodruff-like extent, but I saw him on Imus shortly after the selection and he was all bursting with pride that he'd voted for Bush.

How *anyone* with half a brain could have voted for that dolt really escapes me.

15. can you imagine Bush getting therse questions?
first of all they would never ask Pickles what she thinks about anything.

The Bush would be drooling and stammering, hiding from answering the questions. Talking without really saying anything.

17. Actually, I think it's good to see Kerry get some..
.. tough questions, since it'll show that your next president is able to speak for himself without having someone telling him what to say.

And good to see that Kerry is finally able to cut through the flip-flop theories regarding the 89 billion dollar bill.

As for Theresa, I don't know, she doesn't seem as used to the camera as John.

Edited on Thu Jul-08-04 09:00 PM by RatTerrier
The difference is not acting like an asshole while delivering them (hello, O'Liely!).

Larry's questions are fair, and Kerry did a good job answering them.

Say what you want about Larry King, but he's not a RW whore.

6. Are they not great?
I love hearing Teresa speak. She is so wonderful. I was tearing up when she talked about her late husband. You can tell that JK has great respect for him.

They seem to have a wonderful marriage and it shows in the warmth of their two families that have become one.

Coming from a divorced family, I can relate.

30. No, I think Larry tries to play
devils advocate. He does that to everyone. He asks the questions that a lot of people out there are asking. I think its good because it gave Kerry a chance to answer them and clear things up. What I don't like about Larry is he interrupts a lot and tends to be abrubt. At the end of the interview he cut Kerry off when they were out of time. But again, he does that to a lot of people.

32. Religion is in the debate these days
Especially when we have a fundie president.

And when some fringe Catholics want to strong-arm him on abortion.

And Ron Reagan created a little stir when he brought it up at his father's funeral.

I saw no problem with it. Larry touched on some of the more controversial issues surrounding Kerry, and Kerry was armed and ready to answer them.

24. Beautiful answer to the Farenheit 911 question
I don't think Kerry should endorse Moores opinion. I think it does him better to stay above the fray.

"I saw it - I lived it for the last four years."
"Don't you need it put together for you?"
"I put it together myself and I know why I'm running for President"

Great answer.

Cozy seems to me to be a backhanded insult. Similar to something you would hear coming from a cultural snob.

36. What's wrong with asking tough questions?
I mean, we constantly criticise the press for not being tough on Bush, how could we expect less for our candidate? There's nothing wrong with tough questions as long as you let the person answer, and Kerry's answers are eloquent and strong, and the fact that he can answer the tough questions is much more powerful than some fluff interview.

Kerry showed command of the facts and the politics. He was forceful, thoughtful, spontaneous, clearly engaged and engaging. I believe he connected with a lot of people tonight. I'm glad he's on our side.

Both Kerry's showed leadership, wisdom, courage, honesty and a deep sense of caring for the country and its people. Both came off as very likeable. These are people you would love to have a conversation with.

45. Yeah, I think the show turned out great. Kerry & Teresa did a great job.
Kerry was right to stay out of the F9/11 business and not be associated with it. He's got enough battles to worry about now w/o taking on F9/11 attacks. Teresa correctly stated that they don't have time for movies or books right now.

First time I'd heard Teresa speak at length. She is a very warm, real person. I liked her. She's a very involved, intelligent person. And she's very feminine and classy. Liked her.

Kerry spoke presidentially. I really liked his responses. He's a cool customer, not prone to getting ruffled or angry easily. That's a good quality in a leader (which I had it).

I really really really hope Kerry wins. I will do what I can to help that. We ought to have people with brains and credibility in the WH.

Also, I liked the fact that he mentioned he and Edwards would at least tell the truth. Whether the news is good or bad, I want leaders that I can at least believe when they say something about something important.
