Be VERY afraid to vote for Kerry.
But don't be that afraid so that you won't vote for Bush. :D

5. Completely lampooning Tom Ridge |
|
Edited on Thu Jul-08-04 10:06 PM by sandraj
Stewart is interspersing clips of Ridge's news conference this morning with sarcastic commentary.
Stewart's interpretation of the terror alert:
"We want you to be afraid enough to not vote for John Kerry, but not so afraid to not vote for President Bush."
(or something like that)

|
Something in him is different tonight. The knife is sharper. The comedy is more cutting. The laughs are a little more nervous.
Mark these words, Jon Stewart will play a huge role in this election, and The Daily Show will never be the same.

Perspectives change when you have a child that has to live in this world after you're gone.
I would not be surprised at all to see Stewart introduce a whole new realm of Daily Show "activism."
Stewart has always been more of a media critic/humorist than a hard hitting lefty partisan. Having a child could change that dynamic slightly.

You will not believe it.
"They need to think outside the coffin" instead of "They need to think outside the box" in a discussion of how there are not enough musicians to play at the funerals for our service men and women.

27. 25% get the joke. 75% vote for Bush out of fear. |
|
The republicans are trying to scare people into voting for Bush in order to protect the country. It might work, people see the republicans as better defending our country. I know it's not true but a HUGE percentage of the people do.

|
If you look at internet poll numbers then Bushco has the support of maybe 35%. Yes I know that they are not scientific but I remember back in Jan. We were only getting like 40%. We are going to win!
