2. This is like a couple years ago
Edited on Thu Jul-08-04 11:21 PM by BayouBengal07
when the Louisiana Republican Party put out yard signs in black neighborhoods in New Orleans urging them to "Get out and vote November 6th" when the election was really November 7th (I think it was a Senate election or something). Assholes tried to trick entire communities into not voting.

Do you think the same tactic could be applied here? A last minute election day change that could throw off the uninformed?

whoa that is nasty, I'm surprised I'm not familiar with that incident. isn't that illegal?

on edit: since my post isn't placed in a good spot, this is in reference to the inaccurate voting signs in Louisiana!

11. Well, to be fair,
I never really saw the signs...they came up in a conversation I had on the way to Mary Landrieu's Senate campaign hedquarters riding shotgun with her brother Mitch. He had found some signs put up by the LA GOP on the day of her senate election that said "Mary- if you don't respect us, don't expect us!" supposedly reflecting the opinions of black community leaders, but with a tiny "paid for by the Louisiana Republican Party" label at the bottom. So I can't validate the other sign story, but I trust Mitch Landrieu not to lie (I know he is a politician, but...he's a good guy)

8. "Terrorist" Attacks, Alerts and Threats Only in (Democratic) Cities
not out in Republican suburbs and boonies, of course.
Good excuse to move/close selected polling places
at the last minute, put roadblocks in the way, and all that.

Guess who get to vote and who doesn't?

13. I heard about that, but I think it was the other way around
Like the election was the 6th, but the signs said the 7th. That way, people couldn't go back the next, because the election was over.

9. Wait till November to find out.
Police where posted in a number of black polling districts in Florida in an effort to intimidate the vote. With the excuse of the terror threat, intimidation in the poorer districts (democratic) will be incredible.

14. My take is that not even the American people......
......would fall for another 'stolen' election. They may however be persuaded that cancelling an election 'to prevent disruption of the war on terror'....and/or 'to protect our freedom' is a good thing.

After all they've accepted the Patriot Act and an illegal war with barely a whimper.
