You have set up a site where DUers can donate to the Kerry campaign. Are any doing so or is it all talk around here. I know I was one who donated from your site. How is it going? Are we raising any money for the Kerry camp? Tell us how we are doing. Maybe we all need a bit more prodding.

1. I have donated

to Kerry, Dean, The Democractic Women's Caucus, Richard Morrison, Jeff Seemann, Kucinich, The DCCC, the DNC and MoveOn. I'm working on convincing my fiancee we should donate more (we're already WAY over budget on charitable/political contributions for the year, but this is the single most important election of my lifetime and I'm willing to goa bit overboard, just need to get her there as well).

So come on people, dig deep and give what you can afford and maybe a dollar or two more than you can afford. If you simply can't afford to donate $$$, donate time, offer to bring food to a house party, register some voters, there are a ton of ways to help this time around. Heck, just put a bumper sticker on your car if you can.

but through my own JohnKerry.com site. Hell, everyone I know is getting donations to the campaign for gifts (mother's day, father's day, birthdays) the money I would have spent on a gift is going to the best gift of all, getting those assholes out of my white house.

I also donate at Kerry's site and Moveon.org but I am just curious at how well DU is being represented. Skinner has stated that he can keep track of the numbers. I am in hopes that we all dig in and contribute through Skinners site so as to give us (DU) a little clout. The Proof is in the Pudding so to speak. Are we any sort of force or are we just a chatterbox? If DU contributes a substantial sum then those in power may just pay a little attention to what we have to say. It is sad but the truth of the matter is "Money Talks"

i applaud your call to have DU'ers do all they can to help Kerry and not just talk about it ...

I made a contribution to Kerry the day before the new DU funding mechanism was established ... it was far from my first contribution and it absolutely won't be my last ... I suspect many other DU'ers are in a similar position ...

the next contribution I make will be made thru the "DU fund" ...

your point about a display showing how much money DU has raised for Kerry is right on the money (pun intended) ... it would be a nice feature to add and would likely encourage greater participation ...
