Yellow Ribbon with "Impeach" printed on it
A little political market research. It may be too close to the election to talk impeachment, but I have thought about making up yellow (support the troops) ribbon with the word "Impeach" printed over and over on it.

What would you think if you saw such ribbon? What would you interpret the message to be?

1. That whole yellow ribbon thing
was a misinterpretation of a 70s song about a guy coming home from prison. If the significant other still wanted the ex con, then she was to "tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree. When the hostages were captive in Iran the image was not strained in its use for our hostages held in an Iranian "prison."

Somehow it got applied to our troops in service overseas. The anology was thus stretched and it became sort of annoying. (admittedly, there was on old John Wayne calvary flick "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon", but this was not the pop culture which prompted this annoying display)

They are on overpasses and trees and everywhere around Ft. Lewis here in Western Washington. It is rally a rather vulgar display

However, it has occured to me that a more apt analogy - getting back to the prison theme - is the "prison" that otherwise free Americans find themselves in due to the revocation of our civil liberties by the Bush Administration and its lap dog Rethuglican Congress. Perhaps the ACLU, or DU, could push this interpretation of the theme.

So next time you find yourself in the middle of a yellow ribbonfest, think of the Bushco secret prison here in at home.

I think your idea is a good way to make that crossover.

3. Good idea...
I would also like to see orange ribbons.

It's what happens when yellow ribbons become soaked in blood.
