I might be one of the last DUers to see F9/11... Finally came to my town.
Went to watch the first show (1 p.m.)
I had to go out of the theater because I started crying when I saw the wounded little kids in Iraq, and the kid whose face was being sawn without anesthetic, and the limbs...
Then I came back and had to force myself to watch.

What we are doing is criminal. This was not a defensive war... we attacked, killed, and continue killing people who will be under another tyranny again. WHAT FOR ALL THE KILLING????

AND THESE PEOPLE CANNOT THINK OUTSIDE THE COFFIN (quoting Jon Stewart.)

EXCELLENT MOVIE. For us DUers because we have known about so much of these for so long it is not a shock... but seeing it on the big screen just jars you...

I agree that he should have had at least two more hours and talk about Israel... But you cannot demand more of Michael or the public.

I am very appreciative he made it.

2. Glad you saw the movie...
Yes it is very powerful. As far as Israel goes, we can barely talk about that topic without getting into a flame war here on DU...

4. Still not in Topeka
and our theater owners refuse to speak with anyone about it. After the TV and newspaper tried to contact them they shut down all communications apparently. Everyone has given up. At least it is now in Lawrence, about 30 miles closer. I am glad you got it and hooray for Solly Mack too!

5. Got to see it today too---
And I went to the 1pm show in my town also. The funniest part to me was that the film reel broke and the screen went black at one point and someone in the audience called out "That Damn Bush--he's everywhere!" Then someone else called out--"Wonder what it is that they dont' want us to see?" Then someone else said, "You know we joke, but with this president. . . . " And we all applauded. It was a nice bonding moment. The really odd thing to me is that I was probably one of the youngest people in the audience, and I'm almost 40!

6. I have not seen it yet
And the local theater owner has no intentions of showing it anytime soon.

So I might be one of those few that will travel far just to see it.

8. Saw it last Sunday with my mom
Her reactions were interesting to watch. She is highly educated, and a liberal Democrat. But she gets all her news from Peter Jennings. If he doesn't tell it, she doesn't know it. And she tends to "shut it out" if the news is too dire or depressing.

I told her some time ago about the protests at the inauguration and the egging of the limo. She refused to believe that it happened. "Oh, you know they weren't allowed to throw eggs at the President's limousine!" she said.

Well, when that scene came on in F9/11 she gasped out loud and turned to me and said, "They showed us NONE of that on the tv news."

She was amazed at the war footage. She kept saying, "Why haven't they TOLD us this? It is wrong that they aren't showing us what is really happening!"
