Thinning Nader's Herd
I think that the debate with Howard Dean and Ralph Nader today was extremely important. Debating Nader to change his mind is hopeless, because he is of the scorched-earth mindset. Nothing will stop this pied piper from hurling himself and the fools he's leading over the cliff. I'm sure, however, that there may still be people who are thinking of supporting him, but didn't realize that he is getting Republican help and money. That alone may cause some to turn away from him. I think if these facts are put out on the table, by the time November 2nd. rolls around, this thing will shake out to the point that the only people following him will be other scorched-earthers, and there's not a damned thing you can say to those types.

The best part of the debate was when Howard Dean said that "Bush being elected for four more years is a national emergency." That statement alone says it all.

1. Want anti-war leftwing votes? Easy, get your candidate to move left.
Someone should inform Kerry and his DLC pals. Cobb has my vote.

4. The bogeyman answer.
BTW you obviously don't know where No Pasaran originated. The people yelling it weren't too fond of collaborators. You know, the kind who pretended to be leftists but went along with Franco. Something like the senators who voted for the invasion of Iraq and still support the occupation are doing today.

7. So you won't mind it when Bush wins and appoints more right wing
justices to the federal bench and Supreme Court? Do you care that women could lose the right to choose if he wins again? Not to mention the continued de-funding of programs that help anyone but the rich.

8. For the Greens, this isn't about people.
It is about righteousness or principle or some other platonic abstraction.

9. Quite the contrary was true
The Spanish Communists collaberated with many groups on the Loyalist side, pretty much everyone except the POUM and the anarchist elements who were engaged in redecorating the kitchen while Franco was burning down the house.

3. I'd love to see Kerry co-opt Ralph's platform, but will vote for
the Senator even if he does not. It's an emergency, after all.

However, my vote is going to go back to the Greens in '08 if I don't see significant progressive reforms take place during his term.

5. I was of the same mind until his recent statements.
His unworkable "plan" to involve NATO to get more troops into Iraq, and his support for the apartheid wall in Israel. That moved me beyond the noseholding ritual I've grown accustomed to over the last 3 elections.

10. The suicidal left
Can always come up with some bullshit justification for bringing on a glorious defeat.

Here, try one of these instead:
