Actually, I remember saying to my family, some time in 1998 or 1999-- "watch this guy John Edwards- he's going places".
I think his ability to frame moral issues in an economic context is going to be crucial to winning over folks in the big, central swath of Bush Country. Because somehow the GOP has convinced reg'lar folks in the heartland who make less than $30K a year that they're looking out for their interests.. Or, even better, they "share their values".. Someone needs to flip that bald-faced lie on it's ass, and John "Two Americas" Edwards may be just the guy.
