Will someone help me end this RW lie
Is Hezbollah donating money to Michael Moore and trying to promote his movie all over the middle east? Please tell me this is not true.

2. It was a rumor started in the gossip column of The Guardian, I think.
I used to have a link, but I can't find it now.

I do think that an offer was made, but he's not accepting, and the rest is gossip.

4. No money donations.

Organizations associated with Hezbollah have offered to help distribute the film in Arab nations. That is all. I hate to break it to you, but in Saudi Arabia and the Bush administration, Americans and 'terrorist' groups have a common enemy. Then right wing lie machines started fabricating a connection.

8. The reason for lies
The opposition uses time and money to shape opinion.

Making a lie that will waste time refuting and distracts from real issues are cheap. They save money and we waste time.

Best for you to spread your own positive word or make a good lie/truth to waste their time.

11. Will do...but
I just wanted to know for myself. I didn't believe it and have been working my ass off to defend Moore. I've seen the movie 3 times and constantly encourage others to do so.

14. Damn, I agree it is a stupid issue, which
is why I am trying to put it to rest with the idiots that talk about it and take it for fact. Trust me, I'm on your side and myself, and my family are doing everything we can to get John Kerry elected. I am not here in disguise. I am a proud liberal democrat. No more responses, my question has been answered. Thank You.

16. Why work your ass off? Just learn how to use.....
.....Google!

For instance, click on the link above, (Don't forget to bookmark it! Ctrl + d) then type "Michael Moore", Hezbollah in the box and hit enter.

You will notice immediately that all of the references make it appear that Michael Moore accepted money or endorsements from a known "terrorist" group. That's the 'echo chamber', note that they are all known right wing sites.

Now simply add the words "turned down" to the original search and voila! You get the truth! See the Reuters article under the Yahoo link.

'Fahrenheit 9/11' Becomes Political Lightning Rod
Fri Jun 18, 7:20 PM ET
By Steve Gorman

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A week before "Fahrenheit 9/11" opens nationally in theaters, Michael Moore (news)'s scathing documentary critique of the Bush administration has become a lightning rod for political debate over propaganda, patriotism and censorship.

<snip>

Opponents have mounted a campaign to discredit the film as "anti-American" and to pressure theater owners to boycott it.

"'Fahrenheit 9/11' serves one purpose and one purpose only: to undermine the United States' war against terrorism," said Kaloogian, a former California assemblyman.

A statement this week by Move America Forward claimed "Fahrenheit 9/11" was endorsed by the Lebanese-based organization Hezbollah, which the U.S. government has identified as a terrorist group.

The claim of Hezbollah backing was based on a gossip column item in London's The Guardian newspaper, which in turn cited a story printed in trade publication Screen International.

"It would be more appropriate to have this propaganda shown at Al Qaeda training camps rather than American movie theaters," said Morgan, a talk show host on San Francisco radio station KSFO AM and vice chair of Move America Forward.

12. Why Don't You Prove It Was True
You brought it up.

If someone walks into a bar and says, "the aliens are coming", its not up to me to disprove it.

It's up to the person making the claim.

Can you prove it?

Because you started the thread asking us to disprove it.
