Someone help me understand what happened to the Patriot Act today!!
I hear the news, and either I'm in a fog or something, but I never can figure out what the 210-210 vote today meant. They never report who, what, where, when, why anymore, so I am trying to figure out what the hell they are saying...
Is today a blow against the Abomination of Desolation Act, or is it as strong or stronger as a result of today's vote?
I did not see aything in LBN.

2. It happened yesterday
the Republicans were about to lose, and they held the voting open for an extra half hour or so while they strong-armed a few members into switching their votes. They needed a majority to amend it, and thus failed with the tie. So the PA stays as is.

3. Stronger
They approved the measure that allows them to look at what you are doing in the library and what you check out.

The Repigs held the vote over by about 15 minutes until they could get the votes that they needed to pass it.

4. Let's have a revolution...
and we can imprison everyone who voted for the Patriot Act under the provisions of the Patriot Act, then publicly burn the Act (but not before everyone who voted for it gets life sentences or worse).

7. the vote was held open for an extra 23 minutes
it was a disgrace the limit is 15 minutes. As Bernie Sanders said the only thing unusual about this was that the Republicans did it in the daylight this time they usually do it in the middle of the night when the people are asleep! The Democrats where chanting shame shame shame when the vote was held over and the arms where twisted to get Republicans to change their votes. This I'm sure you know is not what Democracy looks like and numerous Democrats took to the floor today to say just that in their one minute spills they have when the floor opens.
I recorded it but I haven't watched it all I'm still to angry I may bust a blood vessel.
