Ok I am officially fed up |
|
Shouldn't we at some point be able to have a Presidential campaign without anti gay rhetoric? We have the outing garbage. Now we have Drudge and his obsessive spinning of the pictures of Kerry and Edwards.
I am completely fed up with the notion that those of us who are gay and lesbian are somehow less than other people. Of course, in both of the latest cases it turns out we are our own worst enemies. How can we expcect the world to grow up when we haven't yet?

4. Sadly that may well be |
|
Though I don't think black people were enough of sell outs to be behind Amos and Andy back in the day.

2. Shows where the RW stands on gay issues. They do the same |
|
on racial and gender issues too. I can't see how anyone can't see how offensive their spin on candidate trashing is.

3. you know, Ed Schultz says "They think we're stupid" but I have |
|
realized "they" don't think we're stupid, "they" think we're AS stupid and biased and afraid as "their" base of RW fundie fascist bastards are.
Sad isn't it?

5. And it's Drudge, of all people |
|
We live in the Western capital of moral and social hypocrisy.
One could assign a certain percentage of the Republicans' advantage with white-male heteros (and would-be heteros) to homophobia. But I don't think it amounts to much political damage in the end. Kerry's an old soldier and Edwards has fathered two different sets of kids by the same woman. And Cheney's got a gay daughter. Big deal all around.
Live and let live. Most people still believe that's the way to go.

7. At least Drudge is consistent: a love for Republicans that dares not hide |
|
its name comes before logic, morality, ethics, integrity.

10. Drudge is merely parroting.. |
|
Jesse Helms' classic campaign smear tactics used against Jim Hunt and, later, Harvey Gantt. He even had a RW N.C. media stooge pose the question "Is Jim Hunt Sissy?" in one of his rag sheets in the 1984 campaign.
You know when they're really running low, even in the smear-tactic category, they go for waving the pink triangle as hard as they can.
Makes me proud--both to be a Democrat, and NOT to be a Repub!

6. Drudge can't help himself. |
|
What's a gay Republican to do? Personally, I think the Kerry/Edwards pics are great. Edwards really can't help it that he exudes so much charisma. I have this theory that the Repubs (both male and female) are turned on by Edwards and hate themselves for it.
