Jeebus, will one single Dem surrogate do their f'n job!?!?!?!
Edited on Sat Jul-10-04 12:37 AM by John_H
All day today--on Hemmer, Tweety, Aaron, and seemingly everywhere else --whores did hit jobs on kerry because they were shocked, SHOCKED! that whoopie Goldberg said "bush" at fundraiser. Kerry puts out a statement basically apologising. And every Dem I saw (w/ the exception of my girlfriend-in-my-mind Katrina) Dems on the TV were pretty defensive.

Why the Cheney didn't they just say, "Hey Chris can I say on your show what the Vice President said on the Senate floor? Oh. Can I say what the president said about a new York Times reporter on a stage with suburban kids around? Oh. Lemme get this straight: I can't even repeat what the President and Vice President, and you're doing a hit piece on Kerry because a commedian said the word Bush."

There. Was that so hard?

She didn't say anything shocking or upsetting. She said we should keep Bush where it belongs and not in the white house.

The repukes manufactured this "outrage" and the talking heads all parroted it.

19. As usual
This makes me despair more than anything?

Can freedom exist without a Free Press. It certainly seemed to survive all those years of Yellow Jounralism.

What's different, this time?

5. Someone PLEASE tell me this isn't what really happened today
Edited on Sat Jul-10-04 12:55 AM by tom_paine
Though of course, it's probably true.

All this righteous agitation and anger, percolating upward, and our leaders and spokespeople are frightened & bullied so easily still.

They're playing not to lose again. They still seem to have ZERO concept of the Goebbels v2.0 Bushevik Lie Machine and they dance a scairty little jig to it whenever it aims it's cacophonous noisemakers at them.

And I don't think I have words to describe the feeling of being sick and tired at watching these people fritter away our Liberty with their timidity and caution.

THIS :puke: :puke: sick!

Edited on Sat Jul-10-04 01:05 AM by LittleApple81
The source is crappy (NewsMax...sorry, sorry but I had to show this!), and they don't like it. BUT I LOVE IT!!!!!

Elizabeth Edwards Defends Whoopi Raunchfest
The wife of vice presidential hopeful John Edwards is defending Whoopi Goldberg after the potty-mouthed comedienne attacked President Bush with an X-rated monologue at Thursday night's Kerry-Edwards fund-raiser in New York.

Rejecting calls for her husband's campaign to apologize for Goldberg's outburst, Mrs. Edwards said Friday that the anti-Bush tirade was justified.

"A lot of people are going to be angry - there's a lot to be angry about," she told reporters at a fund-raising breakfast on Manhattan's west side. "It's a free country and people are going to express that anger."

Goldberg's raunchy routine, delivered at Radio City Music Hall, included repeated mentions of Bush's name mixed with references to female genitalia, the New York Post said Friday.

one more paragraph at link (the clincher...trying to dirty liberal "values"....)

I thought Mrs. Edwards handled it - WTF is happening here? I am sick and tired of apologizing to these criminals. I am livid.

9. This is very scary if this is how Kerry's campaign is going to be pushed
around. They need to be reminded how Gore got out-maneurved by
Bush people in Florida.

They are expert at having it both ways, aren't they?

Thing is, I doubt anyone but the extreme wingnuts give a flying crap what Whoopie Goldberg said at some concert. But, nice talking-point-float, wingers!

12. And Orrin Hatch's use of the word "dumbass" in the Senate
in April of last year, three times in rapid succession in commenting on Senator Charles Schumer's questions in the Judiciary Committee. Hatch later said that he didn't at all regret using that term in the Senate. Last June 17th, Hatch used the term again, referring to "dumbass behavior" of Senator Schumer.

Or am I mistaken and is the word "dumbass" now as mainstream and God-fearin' as the Good Book and apple pie?

14. I came in here late. The radio is ABLAZE with the news of
Senate investigations revealing what we already knew...IRAQ/WAR WAS ALL A PACK OF LIES. The radio host are on FIRE yelling their outrage at the Bush administration for their hubris ...then

Two hosts spoke on the mamby pamby responses of our party on just about everything!!

I fear we have a "neoliberal" thing going on. I hope I'm way off base. I've been watching the news non stop since Bush got selected and I've had my jaw hit the floor uncountable times for the lack of strength our party showed in response to the republicans. There were only a handful of people in all the congress that had any HONOR in matters that are traditionally Democratic. R. Byrd, Ms Lee, D. Kucinich..perhaps a few more that I cannot remember. Those are the only ones who show cajones, who risked their reputations and jobs to do the right thing...THEY ARE THE TRUE PATRIOTS.

So, while I will vote for Kerry just to get Bush outta there, I do share your outrage with our party's cowtowing at every turn. Somethings not right,I smell a rat.

15. Cynthia McKinney
She was one of the first to speak up about this stuff.

She was promptly abandoned by her own party for it. Paul Begala climbed under his desk when asked about it on Crossfire.

After seeing how she and Lee and everyone who spoke out against Our Dear Leader were marginalised and made out to be crazies, is it any wonder the rest of the Dems are chickenshit?

And there's always the anthrax to keep them in line. Don't think they've forgotten that lesson.

Just be glad that she doesn't support w or nader.
No Whoopi fan will be tr\urned off by her humor.
No 'undecided' voter will turn to w. over her remarks.
Dems need to fundraise. Whoopi helps. be thankful.
