George Damn Bush Isn't From The South
And quit blaming him on us.

He's from Hartford.

Now, please excuse me, I'm going to try to keep (legally and ethically) people from voting for him.

Newt's not from the South either.
Neither is Bob Barr.

Fact remains..these people would have never moved South if a voice wasn't there for them.

They came. They exploited. They got elected.

On edit:

There are a lot of good Bama Liberals on DU. In the interest of fairness...

15. Actually I thought he was born in New Haven.
All I know is from what a Texan friend once told me that if you ain't born in Texas, you ain't a real Texan. I like what Molly Ivins said about him "All hat and no cattle." He is a Faux Texan.

16. Carhartt Envy
I worked at an outfitters early in *'s takeover. The men used to crack me up, shopping for their bib overalls and muck suits and imitating * trying to be a "real workin' man."

Many "real Southern men" that some of you would call rednecks cannot stand the twit.

18. Got that right...

Dubya to man "real" Southern men is akin to the "cowboys" who wear a set of dusters to the bar on Friday night. One does not wear work clothes to the bar. Iridescent paisley shirt and denim jeans starched so sharp you could shave your face with the crease, yes, work clothes no.

17. I've always thought it a bit curious and rather telling. . .
that * is the only member of his family with a southern accent.

He went to highly competitive NE prep schools & universities where he was probably dwarfed in terms of intelligence and cultural acumen.

So why the affectation. . .?

Maybe because he could feel like a big shot only if he pretended to be a good ole boy.

It just reaks of falsity.

19. "Rather Telling"

Another phrase ruined for me by Dubya cronies, in this case Karen Hughes.

Anyway, yeah. Shrub's accent is so fake -- willfully learned, and badly -- it defies description. He gets the idioms all wrong as well.

20. I had no clue that
phrase was associated with KH, but I try to block awareness of her in my consciousness at all times. She always used to resemble a "pit bull" when I saw her in her role as *'s apologist.

I'll try to avoid the phrase like the plague in the future. Thanks for the heads up.

21. He was born in New Haven
However, I read somewhere that in his official WH bio that is left out. He is ashamed of his CT roots. That is no secret. He likes to think of himself as a native born Texas cowboy. Its actually fine with me that he does not admit or God forbid brag that he is from CT. We don't want to claim him! I just feel sorry for the Texans with common sense who see through his phoniness!

...did he WIN your state?

If so, then yes, "you" are partly to blame. Get that shit turned around.
