I haven't seen this, but has anybody on DU started a "campaign" to
tell the Kerry campaign not to feel forced to apologize for Whoopi Goldberg? It was Whoopi's right to say whatever she wanted. Whoopi is not the VP (who used an obscenity in the "most sacred" venue: the Senate.

If anybody has, I want to participate. Otherwise, I just will send an e-mail to the campaign on my own.

1. I honestly think that Kerry ain't gonna say shit.
Also...Kerry should come out and ask Cheney to apologize for trashing the Senate with his F-Bomb... Turn it around!

3. Trumad, I don't understand your e-mail. You mean that Kerry will
kowtow to the pressure and APOLOGIZE? I guess he more or less did something like this yesterday when he expressed that the statements during the show were not his own and he disavowed them.

But his campaign can use so many examples from the right where their unofficial "spokespeople" (who they never DISAVOW) use horrible insults towards "Liberal commie democrats" even propounding they should be killed (plus Cheney's statements, of course). Limbaugh, Coulter, Savage, Hannity...
Vulgarity vs. slander and propounding murder. Repugs win the obscene title hands down.

6. I say that we apologize when Cheney apologizes--which as we
all know--ain't never gonna happen! And would someone please tell me what the big is here? He was called a liar and a thief in the night. What's the problem there? It's all factual. And in so far as Whoppi referring to him as a little shit--well, I have no problem with that either. And I'm a big fan of her "I don't trust any bush except my own" line.

7. PerGOP: Bush was called "liar, killer, cheap thug who sacrifices our young"
The GOP has given up on the dirty talk line and is down to this in the last mass email:

"Last night at a Hollywood fundraiser in New York City, John Kerry said his "campaign will be a celebration of real American values" and that "every performer conveyed… the heart and soul of our country."

According to media accounts, the performers took the stage to call the President of the United States a "liar," a "cheap thug who sacrifices our young," and "a killer."

10. Sounds accurate. Nobody appears to DISPUTE the charges, just the fact that
they were SAID.
