The Bush-Lay Letters
The Smoking Gun has some Bush-Lay letters up.
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0708042lay1.html
With the FBI slapping handcuffs on Kenneth Lay this morning, let's take a stroll down memory lane, when the disgraced former Enron boss wasn't under indictment and had a cozy pen pal relationship with George W. Bush. Below you'll find an assortment of correspondence exchanged during the years Bush was governor of Texas and Lay ran the Houston-based energy giant. The letters, released by the Texas state archives in response to Freedom of Information requests, touch on personal matters like Bush's knee surgery, Christmas gifts, birthday greetings, and even a Lay heads-up regarding a Thomas Friedman story about globalization. Enron, in case anyone forgot, was Bush's biggest Lone Star political contributor.

3. Yes
to each. and sad to say, much of the American Sheeple are idiots in the original Greek sense of the word. Ever read Gore Vidals "An Evening with Richard Nixon?"
the American people were represented by a kids wagon holding a group of dolls that rolled back and forth between the candidates - depending on whae events happened or was said. On the wagon is a sign reading " The American People ".

I like H.L Menken's " Nobody ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of the American people".

But that said, yes, Bush is a scum weasel and a fool. An arrogant fool at that.

2. Bush's memory will improve after Nov. 2 -
when he issues the pardon. But have some compassion. The poor man is down to only about 20 million after setting aside a couple of hundred million for lawyers and other contingencies, and, of course, transferring as much as possible to relatives.
