CNN- Another Black "Ho" for Bush
Where do they find these people? As a black female, it is painful to watch a black female defend Bush as if he is some great "massah". I am concerned about the overwhelming presence of black commentators who get air time who are Republicans. This particular spot was ironic because the woman who defended Democrats was an older white lady and if you didn't know her politics, you would have assumed she was the Republican. It must make Repubs feel justified when they see a black sellout, so pridely support their guy.

1. The reason they get air time is because they are Republican.
Only a Democrat with the public exposure of Donna Brazile gets to be on TV as often and even Donna is a centrist.

3. My god call a spade a spade
When Clinton had to confess to his discretions, I wouldn't have gone on tv saying "oh he is apologizing for nothing because it really didn't happen" These people need anti denial medication if there is such a thing.

I don't feel like I can touch that with a ten foot pole. *lol*

You are so right about some folks needing to take meds, though. How can anyone with mental clarity worship the *?

to listen to my parent's album of HAIR, and the song about all the racial slurs just went *woosh* right over my head but I thought it was cool cause it sounded great.

And ditto for the one about oral sex. *lol*

Edited on Sat Jul-10-04 02:06 PM by calico1
or it seems that way, is the Repubs are digging them out wherever they can be found. Not because there are tons of them. Gotta appear mainstream, you know. Since we know Kerry and Edwards are not mainstream! LOL. I have to agree, its kind of pitiful. A large bulk of the GOP are racists. Talk about voting against your own best interests. They are even worse than the poor holy rollers.

Edit--I am Hispanic and it equally pains me to see Hispanics falling all over them.

Hispanic. It's as if he's ashamed to be Hispanic and a Democrat. On edit, there is an Anglo running against him this election, whom I think has a good chance of winning. It's too bad that a Hispanic in a largely Hispanic district has sold out.

These jerks get to higher places and then try to act white or think that if they pretend to be white they are better people and will be better respected. I have always thought that for minorities like us, our worst enemies are not whites but the sellouts we have among us. Makes me sick.

2. I'd take it even a step further
I can't believe anyone other than very affluent white males would support *. Everyone else loses due to his policies. People of all races, both sexes, and most economic levels have been brainwashed by this administratin and the media. In fact, I think blacks are the least brainwashed, according to their almost non-existant support for *. I admire blacks for that reason.

marriage and Repubs have been able to recruit in churches. But whenever you see a corrupt administration or corrupt people, call them out on it. Black women have nothing to gain by cosigning CROOKS.

32. Black women are not a monolith.
If you are thinking about religion and the Republican inclination towards it, not all black women are Christian/Muslim/religious.

If you are thinking about abortion, while the black community is generally pro-life, there are black women who are adamant about the right to choose, the right to have control over their reproductive functions.

It is true that African Americans are generally socially conservative -- why, I don't fully understand, and I am black -- most African Americans understand that the Republicans do not act in the community's (and I say "community" very loosely, because it is not a monolith) best interests (while at the same time many blacks, such as myself -- a registered independent -- feel that the Democrats are wanting in certain areas, take the black vote for granted).

14. It's a big phony masquerade
The face of the GOP is overwhelmingly that of a white male, and any attempt to pretend otherwise is a farce.

They might as well send out one of those white guys in blackface and in drag, and have him say "I represent you!". It'd have the same goddamn effect.

20. Blackcommentator.com has had some interesting analyses on this phenomenon.
According to their take, what's been happening is that the preachers in Black churches have been siding with the Repugs on certain "culture war" issues, like anti-abortion and anti-gay, and exhorting their congregations to vote along those lines.

It is a despicable betrayal...

21. I've been saying this for a long time.......
The real reason why so many whites are for bu$h and his gang of thugs is because the GOP are nothing but a bunch of racists....just look at all the "red" states who vote repuke.....it's the race thing. A huge segment of our "great" society vote not for their own welfare, but because they hate minorities and the GOP represents their "values". If you take a look at the Bu$h rallies and the audience in their convention it speaks volumns. They pepper a few brown skin people in there for photo ops,but boy is their crowd predominately WHITE. Then Bu$h and his sick ass remarks all the time about being "inclusive" because he has Colon Bowel and Condomleesa Lice as proof of it makes me want to puke buckets. He USES blacks for his own political gain, and then there are a few who think he's so damn great. I will never understand their logic....what has republicans done for minorities besides USE them? Khrist, I feel so full of anger over the blatant hypocricy they show. It upsets me to no end when I see blacks on tv defending those scumbags. I'll bet those dirty old white men laugh and really yuk it up about those stupid "ni**ers". I know how they talk from the south...most repukes in the red states are nothing but clones of Trent Lott. :puke:

22. I consider whites that vote for Bush as sellouts, if not retards.
They sell their souls to the "White Devil" for some sort of false "American superiority." I also believe that most republicans are racists... nobody has been able to prove to me otherwise in nearly 40 years of watching these neo-Nazis fuck over people of color and poor folks... including MILLIONS of poor whites. These poor folks constantly vote against their own interests, hence the 'retard' reference.

37. As a white male, I find it extremely offensive to imply the GOP ...
... represents my interests. It does not. In a single afternoon, Martin Luther King did more to represent my interests than the GOP has done in the last 25 years!

Let's try to get this straight. Today's GOP (not exclusively, though) is wholly aligned to increasing the privileges and entitlements of the wealthy ownership class. Labor's sole 'value' to the ownership class is in enriching them even more. (Greed knows no bounds.)

Since this sole constituency is but a very small minority of the voting population, they must exacerbate and leverage the worst of human attributes to their advantage - but without fairly returning to those people the value of their efforts. There are many for whom the increased miseries of others, whether foreign or domestic, is 'payment' enough, it seems. (We imprison more of our fellow citizens than any other nation. We have killed and maimed more people in other countries than any other nation in the last 25 years.)

Rather than support people in their efforts (i.e. work) to improve their lives and those of their family and community, the GOP tells them (falsely) whom to blame. That's called enabling.

The GOP tells people that the wealthy are the ones who 'create jobs' rather than the fact that the wealthy are enriched by the labors of others. Labor creates wealth; wealth does not create labor. Ownership, particularly of capital, is an entitlement, not a 'right.' It cannot exist without the power and authority of the state: i.e. a 'title.' It is the very majority of the people, those who work, who make it possible for the wealthy to claim ownership in the first place. Thus, it is workers who are both the source of wealth and those who make it possible for that wealth to be privately 'owned.'

In a typical corporation (i.e. the S&P500), labor is compensated for less than 40% of the value of their labor, even including the outrageously regressive compensation of senior executives. Through an increasingly perverted system of 'ownership' accounting, the remaining 60% is laundered and shifted into the accounts of the ownership class.

Income from labor is taxed at the federal level at more than twice the rate as unearned income (income from entitlements), despite the fact that federal services increasingly benefit the ownership class at the cost of labor and at the cost of those who cannot work, particularly the elderly and the young. Indeed, as more and more federal expenditures go to 'privatized' (corporate) interests, the system of successive laundering of money increasingly benefits the wealthy. (The DOE is almost entirely privatized. DOD excesses in corporate expenditures are legendary.)

We have an antebellum plantation economy. The state is 'owned' by the wealthy with a mortgage our children must pay off.

to quote the father of J.C.Watts ( the only black Republican in congress).

Watts was pre-maturely elevated to the 4th spot of GOP leadership in the House of Representatives.

He decided not to run for his Oklahoma district when he finally realized he was just being used as a token.
