Wasn't 'Shock & Awe' a direct response to 911?

Wasn't 'Shock & Awe' a direct response to 911?
It occurs to me that the admin's atrocious 'Shock & Awe' campaign could only have been done as a direct response to the 911 attacks. If so, they'd better be making those direct connections between Iraq and 911 pretty darned clear, pretty darned quick, because all of the other (bullshit) excuses they've spouted for going to war with Iraq haven't been nearly enough, IMO, to justify an attack of that scale.

2. I think so

I think "shock and awe" was a purely political move meant to pander to those who wanted "more whoop-ass" in response to 9-11. It didn't matter who we were bombing as long as they were brown skinned muslims. Now it's all blowng up in *Bushco's face.

Absolutely. So nice to have people in office who think that doing what we have always done... will create different results.
