When will the "People's House" (Whitehouse) be opened to the public |
|
Remember how much grief the GOP gave Clinton for the blockade on Pennsylvania Ave.? Ever since 9-11 the Whitehouse (people's house) has been closed to the public and no end in sight. This is our house not Bush*'s. What right does he have to close our house from us? They are indeed a cowardly lot aren't they?

1. It appears it will be closed forever..... |
|
Since most Democrats seem to agree with the Bush war on terror.

Some Freep loser tried to fly a Cessna into Clinton's bedroom and the end result was the closure of Pennsylvania avenue to traffic. They immediately tried to portray Clinton as afraid. "Cowering in the white-house", "hiding from the people" and "bunker mentality" were phrases thrown around on the Sunday talk shows.

3. It'll be open again when people don't hate who lives there! |
|
Wau too many people, both foreign and domestic, hate the current resident. When a likeable person lives there, the SS will feel comfortable opening the doors again.

4. Its appearance in Moore's movie was so disturbing |
|
We visited in '99 and it was so pretty. We have family pictures outside the wrought iron gate and we saw the chopper Clinton was travelling in overhead.
In the movie, you could barely see the roof-top snipers over the barracades and the grass outside was dying and weedy and splotchy. It didn't look like that when Bush moved in.

we are in a war on terror, and I dont want the White House to be damaged by terrorists, and you have to say it is true that if you could just walk right in the door like the old days that terrorists would stop what they were doing on everything else and spend night and day looking for a way to get lucky just once.
I for one dont have a problem with the White House having the type of security it has so long as this is still something that you dont have to be a nut to think is possible.
p.s. dont take my use of the war on terror to in any way believe that the current administration is in ANY way fighting that war on terror the slightest bit correctly, effectively or morally.

6. The WH is occupied the same way Iraq is occupied. |
|
The people didn't elect Bush. He isn't the people's president. He is the multinational defense/industrial complex war profiteers' president, and he has privatized the White House along with everything else.
The WH isn't afraid of terrorists. There is hardly a terrorist in the world that people in this administration haven't either befriended, armed, trained, supported, encouraged, or done business with. The current occupiers of the WH have a siege mentality because they know what they would do if they were in our place.
